Property Description

Situated at the foot of Mont Ventoux, in a beautiful wine and fruit growing area, Villa St Gabin is a beautiful, 3 bedroom villa, making it ideal for 6 people.

One of the advantages of this place is the fantastic location. It's only 1.5 miles to the village, yet you are surrounded by a typical Provencal countryside.

You've got a fruit farm and vineyards on your doorstep (the rest of the owners land surrounding the villa is given over to agriculture) with some great towns and villages easily accessible for daily excursions.

This villa is one of four properties on the same site. As well as having their own private space, all the villas share the large, heated swimming pool and the great communal facilities.

Property Features

Living room: The spacious living area is very well equipped with a dining table and chairs, sofas, a coffee table, satellite TV and a CD player.

Kitchen: The kitchen is very well equipped with a fridge and freezer, oven, ceramic hob stove, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a washing machine should you feel the need to do any holiday laundry!

Bedrooms: There are a total of three bedrooms at this property – two doubles which have queen size beds and a twin room, each with ensuite walk-in Italian style showers.

Bathrooms: The three bathrooms in this property are all ensuite shower rooms attached to each of the bedrooms.  They are equipped with Italian style walk-in showers.

Outside: There’s a lot to do at this property!  If you’re feeling lazy, you can just sit back and relax on the large lawned areas, or your own private terrace.  Alternatively, you can keep yourself busy and take advantage of the multitude of facilities, including a boules terrain, ping-pong table, volleyball court, table football and a children’s swing/slide.  There’s also a BBQ if you fancy taking full advantage of the long evenings!

Swimming pool: The property shares a gated, heated (from 1 May to 30 Septmber) communal pool with three other villas.  At 14m x 7m, it’s easily big enough to allow everyone to take a refreshing dip during the warm summers, or simply lounge about on the supplied furniture taking in the sun.

Internet: The owner has installed a Wi Fi connection, making it even easier to stay in contact with home!

Telephone: Unfortunately, no telephone connection is provided.

Baby facilities: A cot and high chair is available at this property.

Winter heating: From 1 October until the end of April, a small charge may be applied to cover winter heating, the usage of which is measured using a meter in the property.

Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.

End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning for a fee of 70 Euros, payable locally.

Bed & bathroom linen: This is included in the rental cost, although you do need to remember to bring your own pool towels.

In France it is necessary to pay a taxe de sejour (tourist stay tax) and this is calculated based on the number of people (adults) in your group and the time of year you stay. Under 18's are exempt. We will advise you of any tax due at the time you make your reservation.

Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 300 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible

Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.

Pets: We’re sorry, pets are not permitted at this property.

Smoking: Smoking is permitted at this property.

About the local area

Villa St Gabin is only 1.5 miles from the village of Malaucene where you will find plenty of small local shops and restaurants
If you like to explore the local Provencal markets, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Many of the towns and villages in the area are well known for the excellent Paysan Markets where you will find local produce, grown and sold by some real characters!
The local landscape is dominated by vineyards, country roads and quaint villages, all gently basking in the Provencal sunshine.
Overlooking this vista is the giant of Mont Ventoux. This is a 2000m summit that is famous for the challenge it poses to serious cyclists. If you are in the car, it also makes for a great day out with stunning views on a clear day! (Have a look at our Cycling in Provence pages here for more information about Mont Ventoux) 
With good restaurants in abundance in this area, it’s not difficult to spoil yourself – holidays aren’t for dieting!
If you like a tipple, a well-trodden wine route starts at the door of your Villa. Vaqueras, Gigondas, Cotes du Ventoux and Cahteauneuf du Pape are all well known great wines of the region and are all within a thirty minute drive (Just make sure you have decided who’s driving back!)
If you are feeling a bit sporty, cycling, walking, rock climbing, horseriding, golf, canoeing and even Paragliding can all be found within 20kms of the village. 
Further a field but within easy reach, you have the attractions of some of the South of France’s best known towns: Avignon and Orange are just 30 minutes away and Aix en Provence, Marseille and the Carmargue National Park are all under an hours drive.

The accommodation was of an extremely high standard. It definately had a Provencal feel and each room had a walk in en-suite shower room. It was very clean, well maintained and well furnished. Everything that was required was available in the property ie. cutlery etc.. and washing machine and the owners were very helpful and spoke very good English.
