About the local area

Local shops can be found just 50 metres away, a boulangerie 100 metres, a supermarket 150 metres and a wonderful restaurant on the sea front nearby. You also have a great selection of restaurants to choose from all around the port area and in the nearby 'old town of Nice. There is a great choice of shopping in the department stores, the designer shops and gift shops of Nice.

Local markets are held in Nice and Villefranche. The most well known is held in the ‘Cours Saleya’ in Nice, adjacent to the old town, and offers an array of olives, flowers and fresh produce. There is also an antiques market held here on a Monday.

Sporting activities in the area are abundant– there is sailing, diving, fishing, water sports, jogging and rollerblading along the Promenade des Anglais, and of course the beaches. You are also in very close proximity to the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes region here, which makes walking and cycling very popular.

Beaches can be found just 100 metres away at the ‘Plage Nautique’ and right along the seafront of Nice, as far as the airport. From here you can enjoy the sunshine glittering on the azure blue waters of the Med, watch the many boats crossing the ‘Baie des Anges’, and see the planes and helicopters coming in and out of the airport.

The ski stations of Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are approximately 1 hour’s drive away if you fancy a couple of days winter sports!

Getting around is very easy from here. You have the bus and train services, which have a great network along the coast and further inland. A car is really not necessary here.

Sightseeing is endless; you have the historical old town of Nice; the restaurants and yachts in the port of Nice; a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais; the views from the Chateau of Nice; the Museums of Art in Nice; the animals & plants at Parc Phoenix; the charming Mediterranean towns of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Beaulieu-sur-Mer; the coastal walk around Cap-Ferrat; the perched village at Eze; the casinos and port of Monaco; and the Italian border town of Menton. It is also possible to cross over the border to experience the flavour of Italy!

Other entertainment includes shopping, the casinos & nightlife of Nice, boat trips, cinemas, wine tasting, helicopter rides, or just good old relaxing on the beach!

This was a lovely apartment in a great location with excellent views across the harbour. It had all you needed for two people and would be great for a family of four. The balcony and views were the best features - Miss N. from Kent, Sept 22 (regular customer).

Light rooms and view of sea, lovely location and balcony. All very good and Sandra very helpful - Mrs Z. from Middlesex, June 22 (2nd visit).

Loved it! The wide French windows and south facing balcony were the best features of the accommodation - Mrs Z. from Middlesex, Feb 19.

It was fantastic, everything you need for a family holiday with a small baby. The view was superb. (How satisfied were you with the property ?) Very Satisfied - Ms N. from Stirling, September 2016

Excellent, had everything that we needed comfortable and the views were wonderful (How satisfied were you with the property ?) Very Satisfied, I was kept informed before we went and my questions were answered and the Rep was helpful too - Mrs K from West Midlands, Sept 2015.

Excellent location. Quiet and clean. Easy access on foot to everything you could need. The property was light and spacious. The apartment was portrayed accurately on the website (How satisfied were you with the property ?) Very Satisfied - Mrs F. from Hampshire, August 2015.

Apt Silene is very clean, comfortable and well equiped (including dishwasher and washing machine). Modern decoration in apt with communal stairs/hall being clean, tidy and presentable. It is close to some good restaurants at the port but you have to walk a little further to the Old Town area. The Apt. is very quiet and has a sea view. Also good that it is right on bus route to Monaco/Menton and close to Rail Station (Riquier) for trains running either west or east.(How satisfied were you with the property ?) Very Satisfied -  Paul couldn`t have been more helpful with arranging this holiday. Sandra was very helpful on arrival and offered helpful advice - Mr H. from Co. Down, July 2014.
