Please Note: Change over day for this Gite can be a Saturday or Sunday
Nestled in a quiet corner of the Luberon, overlooking the famous Mont Ventoux, Gite St Jacqueline is one of two gites, built specifically for holidaymakers who are looking for an authentic (and comfortable!) taste of life 'en Provence'.
The gite is very clean and good value for money. The owners have used an open plan design and kept it simple and stylist with tiled floors and tasteful furnishings. There's a double bedroom and a spacious mezzanine level with 2 single beds and a folding bed - perfect for a family of 4 or 5.
Although you're in a rural setting it’s actually only walking distance to the small village of Methamis where you can pick up your morning 'pain au chocolat' or baguette.
The owners of the Gite are locals and farm grapes on the surrounding land. They offer a warm and friendly welcome, and can provide lots of information about the local area should you want to do a bit of exploring.
It's understandable if you just want to relax by the pool, admire the stunning views of the countryside around you, read a good book or sip aperitifs on the shaded terrace.
Living room: The living/indoor dining area is tastefully decorated, and is light and airy with a beamed ceiling. There's a TV, sofa, coffee table and chairs.
Kitchen: The open plan kitchen is well equipped, and has a fridge, freezer, oven, microwave and ample crockery/utensils for 5 people.
Utility room: There's a utility room with washing machine, iron, toys and games that are shared with the other adjacent gite.
Bedrooms: On the ground floor, there’s a double bedroom with spectacular views of Mont Ventoux. Moving up to the mezzanine level, there’s a second bedroom, containing two single beds and a folding bed. Like the rest of the house, this room has a light and airy feel, and provides ample space.
Bathrooms: The shower is located on the ground floor, and is equipped with a shower, sink and toilet.
Other rooms: The owners welcome children, and have even built a ‘play shed’ in the garden!
Outside: The gite has a private terrace with BBQ – ideal for eating al fresco during those beautiful Provencal summer evenings. Outside of the gite, there’s miles of open countryside for you to explore! There’s also parking for two cars – one of these spaces is shaded.
Swimming pool: There is a 10m x 5m swimming pool shared with the adjacent gite.

About the local area
This location has the convenience of being close to a village, but is also ideally situated for exploring all that’s on offer in the surrounding countryside.
If you like to wander around the local Provencal markets, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Bedoin Carpentras, Vaison, Mazan and many other towns in the area are well known for the excellent Paysan Markets where you will find local produce, grown and sold by some real characters!
The local landscape is dominated by vineyards, country roads and quaint villages, all gently basking in the Provencal sunshine.
Overlooking this vista is the giant of Mont Ventoux. This is a 2000m summit that is famous for the challenge it poses to serious cyclists. If you are in the car, it also makes for a great day out with stunning views on a clear day! (Have a look at our Cycling in Provence pages here for more information about Mont Ventoux)
With good restaurants in abundance in this area, it’s not difficult to spoil yourself – holidays aren’t for dieting!
If you like a tipple, a well-trodden wine route starts at the door of your Villa. Vaqueras, Gigondas, Cotes du Ventoux and Cahteauneuf du Pape are all well known great wines of the region and are all within a thirty minute drive (Just make sure you have decided who’s driving back!)
If you are feeling a bit sporty, cycling, walking, rock climbing, horseriding, golf, quad biking, canoeing and even Paragliding can all be found within 30 minutes drive.
Further a field but within easy reach, you have the attractions of some of the South of France’s best known towns: Carpentras is the closest town and Avignon, Aix en Provence, Orange, Marseille and the Carmargue National Park are all under an hours drive.

It was very good. The owner was extremely helpful with information and delivered fresh cherries most nights! Her English was excellent. The accommodation itself was very clean, amazing views and very peaceful.
Mr M, June 2007
Simple and clear - supplied all our needs. The meal provided by the owner was delicious and she was extremely helpful and charming all the time. A bit more light in the living room would have been good . It was hard to read or look at maps etc after dark.

Mr W, Surrey, July 2005
Pool and house very clean. Made extremely welcome by the owners and given lots of jam and fruit. Madame will also provide an evening meal on request on occasions, which was delicious. We have never been made to feel so welcome before yet they were never intrusive.
