Beautifully renovated in 2012, an impressive, 4 bedroom, air-conditioned, private house in a peaceful and private location. With a large, fenced, private pool, you can fully relax and enjoy the delights of Provence!


Property Description

A stunning property offering a  family, or group of friends, a slice of tranquillity and privacy ‘en Provence’.

This impressive villa sits on a 2ha private area of rural land, without being overlooked by any neighbours, yet is just 2.5km from the pretty and well serviced village of Eygalieres.

The layout means the main living area, kitchen and 3 of the 4 bedrooms are upstairs, with a large shaded terrace overlooking the pool and garden.  This level of the house is fully air-conditioned, in case you want to escape the heat of the day!

Downstairs there’s a fourth bedroom, shower room and partially enclosed outdoor kitchen/dining area.  This is a quiet, shaded area of the house, ideal for chilling out after a large French lunch.

The lanscaped pool area is perfect and fenced for peace of mind for guests with young children.  The garden is large and flat, bordered by trees.

Property Features

Living room: The living room is very tastefully decorated and equipped with a comfortable sofas, a TV, DVD player, stereo and a fireplace (wood provided) which is ideal for the cooler months of the year. 
Kitchen: The light and airy, well-equipped kitchen has everything that you’re likely to need, including a fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and electric hobs. It is large enough to house a good sized indoor dining table and chairs and has French doors leading onto the large balcony.

First Floor Balcony: This area is perfect for outside dining in the summer months as it has a large table and chairs and a lovely view of the garden, pool and surrounding, beautiful countryside. You may spend many hours sitting here!

Bedrooms: There are four bedrooms at this property, 3 of which are on the first floor and air-conditioned. There’s a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and a third, large room with 4 singles. The downstairs bedroom can be configured as a double bed or 2 singles.  All are simply, but stylishly furnished with brand new bedding and furniture.

Bathrooms: Downstairs there’s an Italian style shower room and WC, upstairs there’s an en-suite shower room with the double room, plus a bathroom with a bath and shower. There’s also a separate WC.

Outdoor Kitchen: As the main kitchen is on the first floor at this property, it’s very useful to also have the fully equipped, ground floor, outdoor kitchen. It has hobs, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and BBQ.  There’s a large dining table and chairs, plus some comfy seats for lazing around!

Laundry: Also on the ground floor is the laundry, containing the washing machine and cleaning equipment.

Swimming Pool and Garden: The property sits on 2 ha of private garden and is bordered by trees – so you will really feel a sense of privacy and can relax without worrying about the neighbours. A short distance from the outdoor kitchen area is the 11 x 4m salt water pool.  This area of the garden has been landscaped to provide a lovely area to relax by the pool and enjoy the Provencal climate. Outdoor garden furniture is provided and the pool is open from the beginning of April to the end of October.

Internet: Wifi internet access is available at the villa.

Baby facilities: A cot and high chair are available free of charge upon request, so just let us know what you’ll need when you book.

Winter heating: If you choose to visit during the winter months (Oct to March) there is a charge for electricity, calculated using the meter at the house.

Gas, electric, & water: From April to September these are all included in the rental cost.

End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning and this is included in the price of the rental.

Bed & bathroom linen: Bedding and towels can be provided for a charge of 10 euros per person, per week.

In France it is necessary to pay a taxe de sejour (tourist stay tax) and this is calculated based on the number of people (adults) in your group and the time of year you stay. Under 18's are exempt. We will advise you of any tax due at the time you make your reservation.

Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 400 euros, payable on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

Pets: Well-behaved pets are accepted at this property; please let us know when you make your reservation.

Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible.

Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.

About the local area

Slap bang in the middle of the stunning Alpilles range of hills (big hills!) but only 2.5kms from the village centre of Eygalieres.

The local landscape is dominated by olive groves and vineyards, and many of the local villages offer tours of the 'olive press' mills - a good option if you need to escape the Provencal sunshine for a while!

If you like to explore the local Provencal markets, you’ll be spoilt for choice! There are some excellent Paysan Markets where you will find local produce, grown and sold by some real characters!
With good restaurants in abundance in this a
rea, it’s not difficult to spoil yourself – holidays aren’t for dieting!

The Alpilles hills are on the doorstep and the area is popular with sports and countryside lovers. There are some fantastic walks, cycle routes and mountain bike tracks close by and the area is well known for rock climbing. If you've got the energy you can also try horse riding, golf, tennis and canoeing.

Further afield, but still within easy reach are the well know, pretty villages of the Luberon hills - Bonnieux, Menerbes, Lacoste...The sea is under an hour away, with the beautiful Callanques of Marseille to explore as well as any number of the local fishing ports you can find on the coast. 

If its culture you're after don’t miss Saint Remy de Provence for its Roman architecture and the fortified hill top village of Les Baux de Provence (the 2nd most visited site in France).

Location worked really well for us and our daughter. Although it was slightly out of the general tourist areas, it gave us more than enough to explore and led to a really relaxed stay

Property was so quiet and private meaning we weren’t overlooked or disturbed at all. Quite unusual to have a place like that and made it an incredibly relaxing stay for us.

Owner was amazingly helpful - when we couldn’t work air con or washing machine, for example. She visited as soon as she could and was really welcoming.

Property was kitted out with everything we needed. No lack of pans or utensils here!
Upstairs of property was particularly well kept, comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms etc.
We absolutely loved Villa St Max and would love to stay again
