PROPERTY DETAILS

Property Description

This beautiful 1-bedroom apartment is located near to the 13th century "portail Levis" area of the historic town of Vence.

There are several other individually decorated apartments in this charming old villa so if you are going as a group, ask us for details and availability of the other apartments.

The villa is set in the middle of a large and quiet Mediterranean garden - approximately 3600 square metres on different levels with palm trees, cypresses, bougainvillea, mimosa and roses.

The heart of the house was built in the middle of the 19th century. All rooms are light and airy, some fitted out in typical Provencal style with French doors and shutters.

For the summertime there is a communal, fully equipped outside-kitchen with a barbeque. Deck chairs and sun umbrellas can also be used in the garden.

All apartments have on site parking (one car per apartment), central heating, and fully equipped kitchens.

Maid service and facilities for babies are available upon request.

Prices quoted are based on an occupancy of 2 adults – there is a small supplement payable for additional adults or children between 7-12 years old – please ask us for details.

About the local area

Vence is an artist’s town and along with its equally well-known neighbouring town of Saint Paul de Vence, is situated amidst the beautiful hilly scenery west of Nice.

It has drawn artists both well known and amateur, and a special attraction is Matisse’s Chapel, a short walking distance from the old town. Another is the Chagall painting in the Cathedral.

There is a wide range of shops, restaurants and markets in the historical old part of the town, and the apartment is situated adjacent.

The Mediterranean beaches of Nice, Antibes and Cannes are close by.

Tennis, golf and other sports facilities are nearby, as well as a local outdoor swimming pool from May - Sept.

With its close proximity to the hilly countryside, this makes the apartment an ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling.

Within easy reach of Nice, its international airport and all that the Cote d’Azur has to offer.

REVIEWS

REVIEWS

The location and property as a whole were excellent. The particular apartment was dark and gloomy. On revisiting the website, it is now clear that the interior pictures were taken with all interior lights on in the daytime. I was disappointed with that. However, overall, we were satisfied. (How satisfied were you with the property ?) Satisfied - Mr M. from Lancashire, Aug 12. (JDV say: it&rsquos true this particular apartment has fewer windows than some, but this is usually a plus during the hot summer months as it generally keeps it nice and cool).

Very good (How satisfied were you with the property ?) Very Satisfied - Mr G. from Norway, July 10.

Lovely, next time I would choose an apartment there with a view. I found the owner a delightful lady and very helpful (How satisfied were you with the property ?) Very Satisfied - Mrs D. from Somerset, Sept 08.

Very satisfied!!! Would recommend it to friends... - Mrs K from Denmark, July 07.

Very nice, well furnished comfortable apartment in beautiful surroundings. Well worth the money, however, the only drawbacks were the access/communal parking which were difficult - Mr D. from Middlesex, Aug 06.
