About the local area
Vence is an artist’s town and along with its equally well-known neighbouring town of Saint Paul de Vence, is situated amidst the beautiful hilly scenery west of Nice.
It has drawn artists both well known and amateur, and a special attraction is Matisse’s Chapel, a short walking distance from the old town. Another is the Chagall painting in the Cathedral.
There is a wide range of shops, restaurants and markets in the historical old part of the town, and the apartment is situated adjacent.
The Mediterranean beaches of Nice, Antibes and Cannes are close by.
Tennis, golf and other sports facilities are nearby, as well as a local outdoor swimming pool from May - Sept.
With its close proximity to the hilly countryside, this makes the apartment an ideal base for those who enjoy the outdoors, walking and cycling.
Within easy reach of Nice, its international airport and all that the Cote d’Azur has to offer.
Fantastic (How satisfied were you with the property ? Very Satisfied - Mr M. from South York`s, May 2015.
It was a great place, and exactly what we were looking for. The owners and their various dogs and cats were all very friendly, which added to it. It is a bit odd to have the toilet so unshut in the bedroom (which we knew in advance from the photos), and if one was to stay any longer than a week the absence of an oven would be an issue. Booking system and communication was all very efficient - Mr Allison from Surrey, May 13.
Delightful situation. Accommodation matched details given. Generally well appointed. Manager extremely helpful and friendly. Bedding could be upgraded - we had to ask for cotton sheets. We had a fantastic holiday in Vence and would certainly be able to recommend it - Mrs M. from France, May 11.
