About the local area

The cottage is located in a rather secluded location, surrounded by fields and olive trees, providing a great sense of space and tranquillity.  The nearby village of Robion is a traditional Provencal village, with ramparts, winding streets and even a Roman church.

Located in the Luberon National Park, there are loads of outdoor activities available, including hiking, cycling, mountain biking and tennis.  There’s also golf and horseback riding located nearby.  And you can’t leave without participating in a game of the local sport, boules.

Robion itself hosts an open-air dance and music festival during July and August evenings at its antique open-air theatre.  Alternatively, places such as Cavaillon, (the melon capital of Europe!), Roussillon, with its ochre scenery, and Bonnieux, one of several unusual ‘hill-top’ villages, are all just a short drive away.  The larger town of Avignon is just a 30-minute drive away, and here it is possible to see sights such as the Palace Of The Popes and some of the finest examples of Medieval architecture in Europe.  I you fancy a swim, the Med coast is about an hour away.

The nearby village of Coustellet holds a Sunday morning market every week from May to November, and the town of Cavaillon holds a weekly Monday morning market, selling a plethora of local foods and specialities, including the famous melons!  Many of the local villages have their own markets for you to explore, abundant with a variety local produce.

If eating and restaurants are a favourite, you will be spoilt for choice nearby.  Most of the towns and villages have great spots to get some good food and there are also some gems waiting to be found, tucked away in converted farmhouses in the heart of the Provencal countryside.

The nearest larger supermarket is located in the town of Cavaillon, 7km away

Very nice hosts, very good location for biking and hiking

RL from Germany 2019

Very nice, proper, quiet. Very friendly and helpful owners. Loved the big garden

Ms L, Germany May 2018

It is a lovely modern renovation in an old mas. Beautiful grounds with olive trees and potager for guests` use. Also proximity to cycle route.

Ms A, USA, August 2017

We had such a lovely relaxing stay at Maison St Felix. The gardens are beautiful and well maintained. We really enjoyed lazing under the trees in the hammocks. The pool was lovely and warm with ample pool furniture. There is also a nice terrace where we had lots of bbqs.   The owners live next door. They were very kind hosts who couldn't do enough to help us out. The lady speaks very good English but she let me practice my French and was very patient! Although they were always on hand if needed, they were never intrusive and let us have our privacy.   The house itself was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The only downsides were the layout of upstairs - you had to go through the first bedroom to get to the reading room to then get to the other room, although as a family this wasn't a problem for us. The bathroom is also quite dated with only a hand held shower.   The house is in a fairly rural area so I think a car would be essential. There are nearby towns which we would go to for our bread and croissant in the mornings including Robion. The farmers market at Coustellet was lovely. Gordes and Rousillon are very pretty villages which we had nice trips to. It is very well connected with roads which meant it was easy to do further afield trips to Avignon, Aix, the Gorge du Verdon and La Carmague.   We had a wonderful holiday at Maison St Felix and hope to return soon.
