General Description

·         Tucked away in the countryside and surrounded by olive groves, this modest  55m² independent holiday home with private swimming pool, would be just right for a couple or family with small children, who enjoy the tranquillity of the countryside and yet have easy walking access to a nearby village.
·         Situated on one floor, the accommodation is practical with an open-plan living room and two bedrooms, one a double-bedded and the other twin-beds.
·         The interior is bright and up-beat with beamed ceilings and designer tiles – in keeping with the local Provencal style.
·         The sizeable grounds are partially planted with an olive grove and fruit trees and have great views of Mont Ventoux - the illustrious mountain of the region which features every second year in the cycle race of the Tour de France.
·         Just right for active holiday-makers such as cyclists and walkers or as a base for exploring this stunning part of the South of France.

The Local Area

·         A short walk from the property and you arrive in the fortified town of Monteux; ideal for picking up provisions and indulging in that delicious French food. There are also cafes for coffee and croissants or a glass of local wine, plus various restaurants - which is just the thing if you go out eat and don’t want to use the car.
·         Only a 10 minute drive away will bring you to Carpentras,  a merchant town since ancient Greek times; renowned for its Friday morning market, which is when the whole town devotes itself to the mouth-watering local produce. If you come here in the winter be sure to see the Truffles being traded. Restauranteurs come from all over France to find this delicacy known as the ‘Black Diamond’.
·         Take a trip to the top of the Mont Ventoux where the views stretch as far as the Alps - for the super-fit you may want to bike to the summit and there are many well-marked hiking trails which everybody can enjoy.
·         For wine-lovers how about wine tasting?   There are many excellent wine-makers who will give you the opportunity to taste and buy their wine. Chateau-neuf-du-Pape is nearby and is particularly well-known for its wine, as well as being a charming village.
·         Take a trip to the LuberonNational Park with its charming villages or the walled city of Avignon with the Palace of the Popes and of course you can visit its famous sung- about bridge. If you have time, go and have a dip in the Mediterranean Sea, just an hour away.
·         Markets: On Wednesday and Saturday in Monteux, Friday morning in Carpentras, the famous antiques market in Islesur le Sorgue on Saturday and Sunday.

Facilities

·        The interior is both functional and pleasing to the eye – an open-plan living room with kitchen, dining table and chairs.
·        Kitchen: Has all the cooking utensils you will need, a fridge with freezer compartment, oven and dishwasher and there is a washing machine situated in the bathroom.
·        Bedrooms: One bedroom consists of a double bed with wardrobe; there is also a small mezzanine, extremely handy for storing the suitcases. The second bedroom has two single beds.
·         Bathroom:  With shower cubicle, sink and WC.
·         Outside:  Along the front of the house is a covered terrace with a table and chairs and barbecue for outdoor feasting. A hectare of land is all yours, with plenty of room to indulge in the popular French game of boules or for the children to kick a ball.
·         Swimming pool: 8 x 4 fenced pool with surrounding terrace for sun-loungers
·         Internet: Sorry but there is no internet access available at this property
·         Telephone:  There is no telephone at this property - so you can really escape and enjoy some peace and quiet!
·         Baby facilities: Yes, there is a baby cot and high-chair available
·         Winter heating: If required it is available and has been included in the overall cost of the accommodation
·         Gas, electric & water: Again, this has all been included in the cost of your accommodation.
·         End-of-stay cleaning:  The owner arranges the end of stay cleaning service and there is a €40 for this service, payable locally on arrival.
·         Bed & bathroom linen:  This is all supplied and has been included in the overall price of your accommodation
·         Taxe de Sejour:    In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It costs roughly 0.85 Euros per person per day, and is payable upon arrival at the property
·         Change-over day. Generally Saturday but outside the main season we are flexible
·         Long weekend stays. Yes, outside of the peak summer months they are available. Please ask for more details

·         By Car - Directions by car from the A7 motorway will be provided once you have booked and the dates are confirmed.

  •   By Air - Marseilles, Avignon and Nimes airports are all within 1 hour or 1½ hours
  •   By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon or Aix en Provence.
