The Local Area

Malemort du Comtat, just 2km from the gite, has a number of amenities, including 2 bars, a butchers, a corner shop and a new restaurant

Surrounded by such idyllic scenery, the area is ideal for walking and cycling. Also close by, it is possible to find excellent golf courses, and a host of other outdoor activities, including climbing and kayaking.

For a more serene day out, there is an abundance of well-known vineyards in the area, including Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Vacqueras. In addition, many of the local villages have a rich history, and a wander around the ancient streets is not to be missed.

Many Provencal villages hold weekly markets, where it’s possible to browse the local produce. Some of the more famous local markets are Isle sur la Sorgue, (antiques), Carpentras, (truffles), and Cavaillon, (melons).

Larger supermarkets can be found in Carpentras, about 12km away

Living room: The lounge/dining room is comfortably equipped with a leather suite, a TV with ‘Skybox’, (provides French and UK freeview channels), a DVD player and a dining table with seating for six.

Kitchen: The kitchen has 2 fridges, a microwave, dishwasher and gas cooker, as well as a radio cassette player. There are also all the cooking utensils and crockery for 6 people.

Utility room: An iron and ironing board is provided, as well as a travel hair dryer, vacuum cleaner and UK adapter plug.

Bedrooms: There are 3 bedrooms in the property – 2 doubles and a large twin bedded room with a cot. Each bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table, providing ample storage space.

Bathrooms: There are two bathrooms in the property. Bathroom one is a large family bathroom with a large shower, washbasin & WC. The washing machine is also located in this bathroom. Bathroom two has a large shower, washbasin and WC.

Outside: The property is set in its own gardens and has a patio with furniture overlooking the pool. A Weber BBQ is also provided to enjoy those long summer evenings! There is also private parking for 2 cars.

Swimming pool: The private swimming pool measures 8m x 4m and the depth is roughly from 80cms, with Roman steps across one corner, to 120 cms, so very child friendly.

Internet: There is a secure Wi-Fi internet connection available at this property.

Telephone: Unfortunately, a telephone connection is not provided at this property.

Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.

End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning, and a fee of 60€ is charged for this.

Bed & bathroom linen: This is included in the rental cost, as are tea towels and pool towels.

Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.

Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of £300, (or 400€), in cash on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility may be possible.

Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility may be possible during the low season.

Pets: We’re sorry, pets are not permitted at this property.
