General Description
- Villa St Julienne is a large renovated Provençal villa that houses independent family accommodation on two levels, comfortably accommodating 10 people.
- The property is located in the middle of the fruit growing region of the Luberon, close to the town of L’Isle sur La Sorgue.
- There is a wonderful parkland style garden and a large swimming pool, all well cared for by the owners who also live in the property.
- Downstairs accommodates 4 people, upstairs 6, so it's a great house for renting to families or groups of friends.
- Upstairs all have double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and downstairs the two bedrooms have their own french doors opening onto the terrace and garden and they share a bathroom.
- Interiors are centred around open-plan kitchen/dining areas, lounges with large patio doors that open onto outside eating terraces with views directly over the garden and pool area.
The Local Area
- Set amongst fruit orchards in the heart of the Vaucluse, Villa St Julienne is an ideal place for exploring Provençe.
- Situated close to the small town of Le Thor, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and L'Isle sur-la-Sorgue, with its antiques markets, outdoor restaurants and river cafes, are only ten minutes away.
- Surrounded by the mountains of Mount Ventoux and the Dentelles, the Luberon and the Alpilles, the environment is perfect for all outdoor activities, visiting historical towns and monuments, (Avignon is only 20 minutes by car) shopping in colourful Provençal markets or simply relaxing in tranquility and sunshine around the pool.
- The area is perfect for riding bicycles, mountain biking, and hiking.
- Wine tasting is very popular and the Côtes du Rhône vineyards are everywhere, with local "Caves Dégustation" for tasting and buying local produce. The famous towns of Chàteauneuf-du-Pape and Beaumes-de-Venise are also only 20 minutes away.
- As tour guides for biking holidays, the owners will be more than happy to give you ideas on where to go and what to see, recommend restaurants etc.
Facilities
· Living room: The large open-plan living space comfortable caters for ten people. The high-beamed living room, with a traditional fireplace in the corner, is sumptuously furnished with comfortable sofas set amongst coffee tables, Sky TV, a DVD and a Playstation 2 – it’s very hard to get bored if you choose to spend any time out of the Povencal sunshine!
· Dining room: The dining area provides plenty of facilities for the occupants, using large windows to create a light and airy feel. There’s a second dining area upstairs with a separate kitchen, providing loads of space, and extra privacy, should it be needed.
· Kitchen: This property has two separate kitchen areas – one upstairs and one downstairs. These ultra-modern kitchens provide everything that you’re likely to need on your holiday. The upstairs kitchen is approached by a sweeping staircase from the downstairs hall, and is fully fitted, with facilities including granite work surfaces, American style fridge, designer cooker, bar with stools, all appliances and a door leading directly onto outside terrace.
· Bedrooms: The five bedrooms in this property are a good size, and impeccably furnished with comfortable double beds, wooden floors and wardrobe space. Three of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, one of which has a Victorian bath and power shower. The other two bedrooms share a bathroom and have French doors that lead out onto the beautiful garden.
· Bathrooms: There are a total of three fully tiled bathrooms in the property. One is located downstairs, and is equipped with a shower, WC and sink. The other two bathrooms are located upstairs both have two sinks and a WC, and one has a bath with power shower, and the other a single shower.
· Outside: The outside of the villa is as good as the inside! Set in a private enclosed garden, mature cherry, olive and fig trees can be found within the well-tended grounds, the atmosphere enhanced by the south-westerly direction in which the house faces, ensuring maximum sunshine all year. In addition to the gardens, there is a large terrace with supplied furniture for eating al fresco, as well as a BBQ, so you can take full advantage of those brilliant summer evenings! Thetwo entrances to the property have electric gates, and there’s plenty of shaded car parking.
· Swimming pool: The 10.5m x 5.5m pool is perfect for taking a quick dip during the summer days. The pool depth ranges from approximately 1.25 to 1.8 metres. The area is tiled, and floodlit to create a brilliant evening ambiance. It is also fenced to make the area safer for children.
· Internet: There is a WiFi connection provided for you at this property.
· Telephone: Unfortunately, no telephone connection is provided at this property.
· Baby facilities: A cot and high chair is available on request, so please let us know what you need in advance.
· Winter heating: If you visit during the winter months, central heating is available for a supplement of 50 Euros.
· Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.
· End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning, and this is included in the rental cost.
· Bed & bathroom linen: If you’d rather not bring your own, bed and bathroom linen can be hired from the owner at a rate of 7.50 Euros per person per week. This price includes pool towels.
· Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
· Damage deposit: The owner does not normally request a damage deposit for this property, all though you may be asked to pay for any breakages.
· Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible
· Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.
· Pets: We’re sorry, pets are not permitted at this property.
How To Get There
- By Car – Le Thor, the local village, lies just 10 minutes away from Cavaillon, just off the A7 autoroute
- By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away
- By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 25 minutes away
