General Description

  • Villa St Geneviève is one of three brand new, independent and spacious villas set in a private location, close to the bustling town of Pernes les Fontaines.

  • The owner is a local farmer who still grows strawberries and melons on the land surrounding the villas. This means you not only benefit the calm and rural setting, but are also treated to an array of locally grown fruit and vegetables as the season progresses!

  • The Villa has 3 light and airy bedrooms (2 double one twin) 2 bathrooms, large living/dining area and fully fitted integrated kitchen. Everything is pristine and squeaky clean.

  • The owner has chosen beautiful bright fabrics and used traditional Provencal style to decorate the interiors, but has also gone for useful luxuries such as air-conditioning.

  • Despite being one of 3 villas, you certainly won’t feel cramped by the neighbours as each has 2000m of private garden, a large terrace, a garage and driveway. All three share the beautiful swimming pool which is securely fenced and gated and only a short walk from your villa.

 

The Local Area

  • When you’re staying at Villa St Geneviève, you’re in the heart of Provence, surrounded by stunning countryside, yet only 3km from the local town of Pernes, where you’ve got a good selection of shops, cafes and restaurants.

  • The town of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, just 15km away, is famous for it's numerous waterways and mills, for its many restaurants along the canal banks and above all for its antique shops. There are no fewer than 350 "Antiquaires", which makes it second only to Paris in the antiques trade!

  • If you like to get out and about in Provence, this apartment is surrounded by the mountains of Mount Ventoux and the Dentelles, the Luberon and the Alpilles, an environment perfect for all outdoor activities, especially riding bicycles, mountain biking, hiking and golf.

  • Further a field but within easy reach, you have the attractions of some of the South of France’s best known towns: Avignon is just 25 minutes away and Aix en Provence, Orange, Marseille and the Carmargue National Park are all under an hours drive.

  • If you like a tipple, a well-trodden wine route starts close by. Vaqueras, Gigondas, Cotes du Ventoux and Chateauneuf du Pape are all well known great wines of the region and are all within a thirty minute drive (just make sure you have decided who’s driving back!) 

Facilities

·         Living area: The open-plan living/dining area provides plenty of space for the occupants and is comfortably equipped with a sofa bed and TV, and has French doors leading out into the beautiful Provencal sun.

·         Kitchen: The fully fitted new kitchen is equipped with fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer and pretty much everything else you could need for up to 6 people.

·         Bedrooms: There are a total of three bedrooms in the villa – two doubles and a twin.  With everything being on the ground floor, each bedroom has direct access to the garden or terrace.

·         Bathrooms: To alleviate those morning queues, there are two shower rooms, (one with WC), and a separate WC!

·         Outside: The outside is a treat! There are two terraces on either side of the house, so you can choose whether to sit in the sun or the shade, or just find some peace!  This is all set in 2000m2 of garden, providing loads of space to enjoy the long summer days.  Furniture is supplied for you to dine outside during the pleasant evenings, or to just lounge about during the day!  Plenty of car parking is provided.

·         Swimming pool: The communal swimming pool is shared with the three other villas on the site but, at 10m x 5m, it’s easily large enough for everybody to do a few lengths, or just frolic about!

·         Internet: An internet connection is available at this property.

·         Telephone: A telephone connection is available at this property.

·         Baby facilities:  Cots and high chairs are available on request, so please let us know in advance if you require either.

·         Winter heating: If you choose to visit during the winter months, there is a small charge for electricity to cover winter heating.  This is based on a meter in the house.

·         Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.

·         End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning service and there is a €50 charge for this, payable locally.

·         Bed & bathroom linen: Bed linen and towels can be hired from the owner for 10 Euros per person per week. 

·         Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. As a guide, this is approximately 1 Euro per person per day, (children exempt).

·         Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 350 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

·         Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible

·         Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.

·         Pets: Small, well behaved, pets are permitted at this property, but please let us know if you intend to bring yours.

·         Smoking: Smoking is permitted inside this property.

How To Get There

  • By Car - Pernes les Fontaines is situated approximately 20 minutes drive East of Avignon and 40 minutes north of Salon-de-Provence.

  • By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away

  • By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 20 minutes away
