General Description

 ·         This pretty independent villa sits in a valley just below one of the most stunning villages in France, Les Baux. From Royalty to Movie stars this area has welcomed guests from all over the world to share the truly exceptional scenery

·         The house is of Mediterranean style, comfortable and bright, reflecting the warm vibrant colours of its surroundings. The well kept traditional Provencal terraced garden is planted with Lavender, olive, and fruit trees, a rockery dotted with flowers and fragrant herbs.

·         Morning Coffee and croissants, tea in the afternoon or sipping chilled rose wine at sunset on the terrace (which is conveniently enclosed in the cooler months) the view of vineyards, olive groves, rolling hills and distant mountains is glorious. An added delight is the Jacuzzi on the terrace, so whilst relaxing, enjoy the million-dollar view.

·         The location is a calm residential area, with a 5 minute drive to the shops, restaurants, and bars, where you can sit outside, and eat the hearty food of sun drenched Provence.

·         A large open plan sitting room with a cosy open fire, dining room, and conservatory which is opened out onto the terrace in the summer months, but is ideal in the off season for soaking up the winter sunshine. Terracotta tiles throughout. A practical kitchen with all mod cons. Two bedrooms, one which opens onto the terrace, and has a desk area, the other has its own private terrace.

The Local Area

·         The house sits between Les Baux and Maussane les Alpilles, so you will find everything you need. Both are steeped in history, why not visit the Chateau in Les Baux.

·         Maussane is famed for its olive oil. The village square is typically shaded by lofty plane trees, with the local fountain surrounded by cafes, and restaurants. A small supermarket , for all conveniences, a butchers, a baker for fresh bread, artisan shops selling local produce  

·         For sports facilities, there are public tennis courts and swimming pool just 2 minutes walk away, walking and biking trails and horse riding all close by. Great Golf courses 9 holes 3kms, 18holes 10kms.

·         There are plenty of local markets to choose from Saint Remy on Wednesdays, Maussane Thursdays, Arles on Saturday mornings

·         Bedrooms. 2 bedrooms both with double beds 140cm. One bedroom has a step down to an area which contains a desk area that opens onto the main terrace. The other bedroom has its own terrace with a table and 2 chairs. Both have cupboards, wardrobe space and lighting.

·         Bathrooms: The bathroom has bath with spa and shower, sink and toilet

·         Outside:  Enclosed terraced garden

·         Swimming pool: no but there is a Jacuzzi on the terrace

·         Internet: dial up available

·         Telephone: yes

·         Baby facilities: yes a cot but no high chair

·         Winter heating: wood included but extra charge for electricity, free from May

·         Gas, electric, & water: are all included in the rental cost.

·         End-of-stay cleaning: This service is arranged by the owner for a fee of 50€.paid locally

·         Bed & bathroom linen: is included in the rental cost.

·         Taxe de Sejour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.

·         Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 500 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

·         Change over day: Flexible

·         Long weekend stays: Yes, on request

·         Pets: yes, small ones on request

·         Smoking: is not permitted inside this villa – sorry.

·         By Car – Come off the A7 at Cavaillon direction saint Remy de Provence. Exit Saint Remy, go through the town where you will find signs for Galanum and Les Baux

·         By Air - Marseille, Nimes and  Avignon Airports are the nearest - approximately 60 minutes drive away

·         By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon,  which is approximately 50 minutes away
