Villa St Felix
General Description
- Villa St Félix is in a tiny hamlet, set in open countryside, with great views towards the Luberon and Mont Ventoux.
- It’s actually only 1km to the typically Provencal village of Villars, where you‘ll find a few shops, bars and restaurants. The location is ideal for a family or group of friends who want some peace and quiet, fresh air and a base to explore Provence.
- The modern 2 storey Villa sleeps up to 9 people. It’s spacious, well designed and tastefully furnished with tiled floors throughout.
- There are 4 bedrooms, 2 double rooms on the ground floor and a double and a triple room upstairs. There are 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets.
- The living/dining room is light and airy with French doors out onto the terrace, garden and swimming pool.
- If you’re visiting during the summer you’ll probably spend most of your time out in the large enclosed garden, enjoying the Provencal sunshine by the swimming pool.
- Just outside the kitchen is a lovely terrace, shaded by the vine growing over the wrought iron pergola, perfect for long lunches with a glass of Rose.
The Local Area
- Despite its secluded location, your villa is only a 1KM walk away from the nearest village of Villars. Here you’ll find the boulangerie, cafes and some local stores.
- There are plenty more shops and supermarkets just a few Km in the larger town of Apt, but if you fancy a more traditional approach, there are some great local Paysan Markets. Every day of the week, in a host of villages nearby, local growers gather to sell their produce; Springtime brings fresh strawberries, green and white asparagus, cherries in May and June, with tomatoes olives garlic and courgettes all grown locally and available practically all year round.
- Directly from the Villa you can get out and about in the countryside, as you are centrally located between the Luberon hills to the south and Mont Ventoux to the North. Both areas are well known for great cycling and walking tracks, there’s excellent rock climbing nearby at Buoux.
- If you are feeling really energetic, tennis courts are available in the local village of St Saturnin, horse riding and windsurfing just 5km away, plus hang-gliding, fishing and Golf nearby. Alternatively, how about a gentle game of boules with the locals, under the shaded trees, accompanied with a glass of local Pastis!
- If visiting is your thing, you really are spoilt for choice. From the Roman architecture at Arles, the Palace of Popes at Avignon, and the cultured avenues of Aix en Provence to the local vineyards, the Carmargue National Park and the Regional Park of the Luberon, there really is too much to do in one visit.
