The Local Area

Villa St Cassia is only 1.5 miles from the village of Malaucene where you will find plenty of small local shops and restaurants.

If you like to explore the local Provencal markets, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Many of the towns and villages in the area are well known for the excellent Paysan Markets where you will find local produce, grown and sold by some real characters!

The local landscape is dominated by vineyards, country roads and quaint villages, all gently basking in the Provencal sunshine.

Overlooking this vista is the giant of Mont Ventoux. This is a 2000m summit that is famous for the challenge it poses to serious cyclists. With good restaurants in abundance in this area, it’s not difficult to spoil yourself – holidays aren’t for dieting!

If you like a tipple, a well-trodden wine route starts at the door of your Villa. Vaqueras, Gigondas, Cotes du Ventoux and Cahteauneuf du Pape are all well known great wines of the region and are all within a thirty minute drive (Just make sure you have decided who’s driving back!)

If you are feeling a bit sporty, cycling, walking, rock climbing, horseriding, golf, canoeing and even Paragliding can all be found within 20kms of the village.

Further a field but within easy reach, you have the attractions of some of the South of France’s best known towns: Avignon and Orange are just 30 minutes away and Aix en Provence, , Marseille and the Carmargue National Park are all under an hours drive.
Facilities

Living room: The corner living room is airy and spacious, with an exposed stonework interior, making the occupants truly feel as if they are in rural Provence. It has a couple of comfy sofas and a pretty fireplace, as well as a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a DVD player.

Dining room: The dining area is located up a couple of steps from the open-plan living area, and provides comfortable dining facilities for the occupants.

Kitchen: The kitchen is open-plan with the living area, and makes excellent use of space. It has all of the modern amenities that you’ll need for a holiday in Provence, including a ceramic hob, a traditional oven, a microwave and a dishwasher, as well as all the necessary cooking utensils. There is also a washing machine in the cellar.

Bedrooms: There are three big bedrooms in the property. There are two doubles on the ground floor, and another double upstairs, as well as a single bed on a mezzanine level plus a sofa bed.

Bathrooms: There are two shower rooms and a bathroom in the property, as well as 3 WCs, meaning there are rarely queues during busy periods.

Other rooms: There is a small storeroom at the property.
- Outside: Outside, the property has two terraces, one south-facing, and one west-facing. From these, there are lovely views of the vineyards of the surrounding Luberon countryside

Swimming pool: The swimming pool measures 9m X 4m and is heated from 1 May to 30 September.
- Internet: There is an internet connection at the property and Wi-Fi access is available

Baby facilities: Baby facilities are available on request.

Winter heating: Winter heating is available, although there will be a small surcharge for the elctricity consumed between 1 October and 30 April.

Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.

End-of-stay cleaning: The owner requests 60 Euros to cover the end-of-stay cleaning, (payable locally)

Bed & bathroom linen: This is included in the rental cost.

Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.

Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 300 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible

Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.
- Pets: We’re sorry, pets are not permitted at this property.
How To Get There
- By Car - Malaucene is situated approximately 25 miles from Avignon, 22 miles from Orange and 5 miles from Vaison la Romaine
- By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 75 minutes drive away
- By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 25 miles away
