  • Despite the great location, its only 2km away from the delightful village of Cucuron. Read on to find out a little more about the house and the area………..

The Local Area

  • The pretty village of Cucuron is only 2 kms away from the villa. Cucuron is an unusual village in that it has, in place of the more common village square, a village pond – very pleasant to sit outside one of the bars that border the water on a hot summers afternoon or evening!
  • Also close by is picturesque village of Lourmarin, selected as one of the most beautiful villages in France and well worth a stroll around.
  • The winding roads of the Luberon, with spectacular views, are great to explore and you'll find lots of other charming villages (Gordes, Menerbes, Maubec, and Bonnieux) on the doorstep.
  • Just a short drive away there's a great Sunday morning market at Coustellet and the larger towns of Apt and Pertuis are both only 15 minutes away.
  • There's loads to do and see in the area; St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture, Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, famous as an antique centre and market. Also within easy reach are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence.
  • If activity is your thing, this area is perfect for climbing, cycling, mountain biking, trekking, golf, tennis and swimming.

Facilities

  • Living room: The open plan living area is comfortably furnished, with a sofa and chairs, a TV and a dining table and chairs for the occupants.  There are also French doors leading straight out onto the private terrace.
  • Kitchen: The living and dining area leads on to an open plan kitchen which is fully equipped with everything you’ll need; fridge, freezer, oven, four-plate hob, microwave and dish washer.
  • Utility room: The small laundry room contains a washing machine, as well as spare sheets and bed linen.
  • Bedrooms: This property has three bedrooms.  A twin room and a double room is located downstairs, both of which have built-in wardrobes.  The third room is located up some stairs.  Containing a double and a single bed, the room has a spacious, airy, feel, with panoramic views across the surrounding countryside.
  • Bathrooms: Downstairs, next to the two bedrooms, there’s a shower room with separate WC.
  • Outside: The property has a great terrace that runs along the front of the house, and around the side, allowing you to dine al fresco during the gorgeous summer evenings!  Alternatively, you’ve got a spacious private garden to relax in, using the supplied furniture.  There is a lot of land given over to Provencal scrubland and there’s also private parking available.
  • Swimming pool: Unfortunately, there is no swimming pool at this property.
  • Baby facilities: A baby cot is available upon request, so please let us know in advance if you’ll need one.
  •  Winter heating: Winter heating is included in the cost of your holiday
  • Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.
  • End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning, and this is included in the rental cost.
  • Bed & bathroom linen: If you don’t want to bring your own, bed linen can be hired at a rate of 10 Euros per person per week, and towels for 5 Euros per person per week.  Please let us know if you wish to rent these.
  • Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 610 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
  • Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible
  • Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.
  • Pets: Well-behaved pets are accepted at this property.
  • Smoking: Smoking is permitted within this property

How To Get There

  • By Car - Cucuron is situated approximately 20 minutes drive north of Aix en Provence and about 35 minute drive from St Remy de Provence
  • By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away
  • By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 30 minutes away
