General Description

  • Superb villa for up to eight people, in a dominant position overlooking the Market town of Apt.

  • It also benefits from stunning views of the local countryside; the Luberon National Park, the Vallee d'Apt and the Monts du Vaucluse.

  • As well as the stunning views and the beautiful location, it is just 3kms away from the town of Apt with its shops and famous weekly market

  • The house has been carefully thought out in terms of the decoration.  The rooms have lovely high ceilings, the interiors are all very light and airy and the soft and relaxing tones of the decoration lend a elegant feel to the property throughout.

  • Outside the facilities are equally pleasing.  There is a swimming pool which measures 12 x 3.5 m, set in 5ha of land, all cared for with an automatic watering system.

  • There is also a terrace with garden furniture for eating out in the warm Provencal evenings and enjoying the views of the surrounding countryside.

  • There are all the facilities that you'd expect in a property of this quality.  Everything has been carefully thought through for the comfort of the guests.

The Local Area

  • The town of Apt (3km from the Villa) is a typically Provencal market town.  It has a great selection of shops, including a few boulangeries for your morning croissant, some good restaurants and a few cafes.

  • The winding roads of the Luberon, with spectacular views, are great to explore and you'll find loads of picturesque villages (Gordes, Menerbes, Bonnieux) on the doorstep.

  • There's loads to do and see in the area; St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture, Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, famous as an antique centre and market. Also within easy reach are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence.

  • If activity is your thing, this area is perfect for walking, climbing, cycling, mountain biking, trekking, golf, tennis and swimming.

Facilities

  • Living & Dining rooms: The downstairs is quite open plan with the kitchen leading to the dining room which leads on to the lounge area.  The living room is nicely laid out with comfortable and very tasteful furnishings, an open fireplace if you're visiting in the winter and a DVD player should you need some entertainment.

  • Kitchen: The kitchen is an open plan style area that is very well equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, oven and microwave oven.

  • Utility room: There is a laundry room with a washer and a dryer available for your use.

  •  Bedrooms: There are four bedrooms, three doubles and one twin room, accommodating 8 people comfortably. All the bedrooms are on the ground floor except the twin room which is actually a mezanine and is accessed through one of the other bedrooms.

  • Bathrooms: There are two en-suite shower rooms with bedroom 1 and 2, and bedrooms 3 and 4 share a bathroom with bath, double sinks and WC. There is also a separate WC.

  • Additional accommodation: In total the accommodation amounts to 190m².  In addition to the main house, there is also a garage and private parking.

  • Outside:  The land with the house stretches to some 5ha and includes the terrace by the house and the swimming pool, all looked after by an automatic watering system. There is also a BBQ outside for guests use.

  • Internet Access: Sorry, there is not Internet access at this property, but you  could use wifi access at one of the cafes in Apt, or of course bring a 'Dongle' and pick up a mobile network.
  • Swimming pool: The swimming pool measures 12 x 3.5m and is a depth of 1.5m.  There is a swimming Pool alarm for your protection.

  • Winter heating: Is included in the rental cost.

  • Gas, electric, & water: are all included in the rental cost.

  • End-of-stay cleaning: The owner requests that you leave the bathrooms and the kitchen in the same clean state as when you arrived.  If this is not the case then a 100 euros cleaning fee will become payable.  Included in the rental cost are the garden and swimming pool maintenance.

  • Bed & bathroom linen: is included in the rental cost, including swimming pool towels.

  • Taxe de Sejour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.

  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 1000 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages. It can also be paid for using a credit card authorisation.

  • Change over day: Saturday in high season, some flexibility out of high season.

  • Long weekend stays: Available on request in low season.

  • Pets:  Small, well behaved pets are accepted, please let us know when you book.

  • Smoking: is not permitted inside this villa – sorry.

  • By Car - The town of Apt lies just off the N100, approximately 50 minutes East of Avignon
  • By Air – Avignon, Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away
  • By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 50 minutes away
