Villa Rose
General Description
- This luxurious 4 (or 5) bedroom holiday villa with fabulous pool and private tennis court, stands on a hilltop offering spectacular panoramic views over the sea, Nice, Cap Ferrat and the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer.
- The villa is approximately 230 sq metres and comprises of a large living/dining room, very well equipped kitchen, utility room, guest cloakroom, 2 double bedrooms, 2 twin bedrooms, 4 bath/shower rooms, huge terraces upstairs and down, an amazing swimming pool, a private tennis court, 1000 sq metres of gardens and parking for several cars.
- It is in a quiet, prestigious location, minutes from the entertainment and nightlife of Villefranche & Nice.
- This villa offers pure luxury and would be perfect for a group of friends, or 2 families holidaying together. The prices quoted here are for up to 8 people within the main house, in 4 bedrooms, however there is also the opportunity to rent an attached 1-bedroom apartment for a further 2 people - please ask for details.
The Local Area
- Villa Rose is situated in a quiet spot in the hills overlooking Villefranche & Nice - you can see as far as the Gulf of St Tropez on a clear day!
- Local shops, restaurants, boulangeries and a small supermarket can be found approximately 1km away.
- Local markets are held in Nice approximately 3 km away.
- Sporting activities in the area are abundant– there are many golf courses; there is a private tennis court just 30 metres away for those staying at this villa; there is also table tennis by the pool and of course being near to the sea, fishing and water sports are a favourite!
- The nearest beach is the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, which is sandy, suitable for swimming, and has restaurants and cafes for refreshments.
- The ski stations of Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are approximately 1 hour’s drive away if you fancy a couple of days winter sports! You are also in close proximity to the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes region here, which makes walking and cycling very popular.
- Sightseeing from Villa Rose is endless; you are ideally placed here to visit the most famous places on the Cote d’Azur. To the east there is St Jean-Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, the medieval hilltop village of Eze, Monaco, Cap Martin and the Italian border town of Menton. You can choose on which of “Les Trois Corniches” you would prefer to drive and take in the spectacular sea views. To the west you have the coastal towns of Nice, Antibes and Cannes. Further inland you can visit the delightful towns of Vence, St Paul de Vence, Valbonne, Biot and Mougins.
- Other entertainment includes the water theme-park at Marineland near Antibes; the Old Town of Nice; The Promenade des Anglais; the Port of Nice; the zoo on Cap Ferrat; casinos and shopping in Monaco; helicopter rides from Monaco; yacht marinas in Villefranche, St Jean-Cap-Ferratt and Beaulieu-sur-Mer; and much much more!
Facilities
- Living room: is very spacious and is stylishly furnished with woven sofas, seating for 8 people, a contemporary fireplace, a large Plasma TV with international satellite channels, a DVD and a BOSE Hi-Fi. There are floor to ceiling glazed doors leading out onto a huge terrace with stunning views. The whole villa (except bathrooms) has teak wooden flooring throughout.
- Dining room: is open to the living room, with a circular table & 8 chairs, and fantastic views through the floor to ceiling windows.
- Kitchen: is separate and is exceptionally well equipped with a huge gas cooker, a further electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, American fridge/freezer with ice machine, coffee & espresso machine and an indoor barbeque!
- Utility room: is next to the kitchen and includes a washing machine, a separate dryer, another fridge/freezer, an iron & board. There is also a “cave” for your wine!
- Bedrooms: there are 4 large bedrooms in total, all with their own en-suite bath or shower room. All the bedrooms have a flat screen TV, a DVD player, air-conditioning and great views! On the ground floor two of the bedrooms are furnished with twin beds, and have French doors onto the garden. Then a private staircase leads to a double bedroom, which has a walk-in-wardrobe, electrically operated beds and French doors out onto a huge terrace. Another private staircase leads to a second double bedroom, with electrically operated beds and French doors to the terrace.
- Bathrooms: there are 3 bathrooms, and 1 shower room in total, all of which are beautifully appointed and en-suite. One of the upstairs bathrooms has a corner Jacuzzi bath and jet shower. All the bathrooms are fully tiled and come with washbasins set into marble countertops.
- Other rooms: there is a magnificent “salle d’eau d’invitées” (guest powder room) downstairs, which also serves the living room & ground floor bedrooms. There is also a newly installed safe for your valuables.
- Additional accommodation: there is an independent studio apartment underneath the main house, with a kitchen, bedroom and shower room – ideal for au pair etc. This can be rented separately at an additional cost – please ask for details.
- Outside: there is a secure gated entrance, with a drive and parking for several cars. The gardens are private, with lawns and play swings - ideal for children. There are numerous terraces around the villa and the pool, with tables, chairs and sunloungers.
- Swimming pool: is just fantastic! It is made up of 2 parts, one shallow part 50cm deep for children and the main part approximately 10x6 metres in size. There is a poolside shower, numerous sun loungers, an electrically operated parasol and even an outdoor Hi-Fi! The pool is heated using a newly installed (2008) electric system, so that it can reach up to 30 degrees centigrade in the cooler summer months. It is alarmed and screened by a glazed wall.
- Internet: Wi-Fi connection is available for your laptop.
- Telephone: is available at an additional cost.
- Baby facilities: there are 2 baby-cots and 2 high chairs available at this villa.
- Winter heating: electricity is included in the rental cost up to 100 Euros per week. Thereafter there is an additional charge. This villa has air-conditioning in the bedrooms for the summer and electricity is charged on the same basis as winter heating.
- Gas & water: are included in the rental cost.
- End-of-stay cleaning: is included in the rental cost.
- Bed & bathroom linen: is included in the rental cost.

- Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 1500 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
- Change over day: is usually a Saturday however the owner may be flexible out of the high season months. Stays of 4 weeks duration are preferred during the July & August months.
- Pets: please enquire.
- Smoking: is not permitted inside this villa – sorry.
How To Get There
- By Car – The roads and autoroutes in France are a pleasure, so driving can sometimes make a good alternative to flying – at least you’ll already have your car with you! From the UK you have the choice of ferries or the Eurotunnel for your crossing. Once in the South of France, Villefranche can be easily accessed from Nice via the N7 and Villa Rose is located a short distance from this road.
- By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport - approximately 10 kilometres away. There are daily flights from the UK with British Airways, British Midland, Easyjet and Jet2. There are regular bus and train services from Nice airport, to Nice and then Villefranche town centre.
- By Train – Eurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice. The nearest train station to this property is Villefranche-sur-Mer, approximately 1.5km away.
