Villa d'Astros
General Description
- Villa d’Astros is a large modern property, built in the typical Provencal style. It is a gated property and there is a large and secluded garden with a heated pool.
- The villa, which sleeps up to 8 people, is situated just outside the charming and picturesque village of Tourtour and is just a 10 minute walk away. At this villa there are two living rooms and dining areas making it ideal for family groups.
- This is a perfect location to relax and enjoy the house and garden and is also ideal for touring the region, discovering the ’olde worlde’ part of France.
- Villa d’Astros is available to rent throughout the whole year.
The Local Area
- The pretty medieval perched village of Tourtour has a magnificant panoramic view across the surrounding countryside and at 1500 feet the air is fresh and cool.
- Sports facilities/Activities: There are several hiking trails in the hills and valleys surrounding Tourtour and is a great place for cycling for the more enegetic. The Gorge du Verdon is a must for spectacular views.
- Sightseeing: With so many beautiful villages in the surrounding area, each with its own story to tell, it is great for those who like to explore. The village of Tourtour has lots of history to share with you. The original Cistercian abbey was built here in 1136, there's a 17th-century olive-oil mill and an imposing 16th-century chateau to enchant you.
- Markets: A joyous occasion is to visit the weekly market where you can purchase all the locally grown and seasonal fruit and vegetables, flowers, olives, cheese and wine. Ideal for lunches or aperitifs on the terrace. Head for the market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in Tourtour and Thusday morning in Villecroze..
- Restaurants: Tourtour has a good selection of restaurants, café-restaurants, and ‘tea-shop’ places to eat, most with shaded outdoor terraces. There is something for every taste and price.
- Supermarkets: There is a Casino supermarket in Tourtour for all your provisions.

- Living Room: There are two living rooms at Villa d’Astros, one on each floor. There are comfy chairs and sofas in these spacious rooms. There is a
- Kitchen/Diner: The kitchen is large and modern and well equipped with fridge/freezer, hob and electric oven, dishwasher and microwave. There is also a kitchenette on the first floor with a dining area and a lovely sunny balcony with bbq.
- Utility room: Housing the washing machine and tumble dryer.
- Bedrooms: There are four bedrooms. Downstairs there is a double bedroom with French windows and en-suite bathroom. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a twin room (that can be a double) with washing facilities and a twin bedded room.
- Bathrooms: The downstairs en-suite has a bath, shower, bidet and toilet. Upstairs, there is an en-suite with bath, basin and toilet. The third bathroom, next to the twin room has a shower, basin and wc. The twin/double bedroom has its own washing facilities. There is also a guest wc on the ground floor.
- Outside: There is a large garden (1 acre) with lots lovely plants, trees and a variety of mature shrubs. Leading from the kitchen and living room there is a private, south facing open and covered terrace with table and chairs and with a gas barbeque.
- Facilities: There is a table tennis table, boules, board games, books and a children’s video library.
- Parking: There is ample room for secure parking around the house.
- Swimming Pool: The oval shaped pool, measuring 10 x 4 metres, is heated and sits in front of the property. There is lots of room for the pool furniture.
- Internet Broadband: Connection is available for your laptop.
- Telephone: Is available at the house.
- Baby facilities: There is a cot available.
- Bed and bathroom linens: There is a 10 euro charge for each person and is payable locally on arrival.
- Winter heating: Please enquire.
- Gas, electric and water: Is included in the rental cost
- End-of-stay cleaning: There is a charge of 100 euros paid locally on arrival.

- Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 500 euros or a £500 cheque on arrival This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
- Change over day: Is normally Saturday, but please enquire.
