Pavillon Camargue
General Description
· One of several, themed, air-conditioned apartments, architect-designed, which have been beautifully renovated from the former farm buildings on this ancient 'Mas'. With a large shared pool, lawned gardens, and each 'pavilion' having its own terrace and little garden, this peaceful holiday haven is only 10 minutes from the beach, and yet is close to the lovely city of Montpellier.
· Pavillon Camargue is beautifully decorated in the style of the Camargue, with creams and white with hints of rich, deep red and pictures of horses and bulls. It is ideal for a couple, or a couple with one child. It is a larger apartment 54 sq.m. in total with a 24 sq.m. patio and garden. Painted in a soft terracotta colour outside, it has a parasol, table and chairs for al fresco dining. You enter the apartment through the french doors. Inside there's a comfortable living area with a sofa, coffee table and TV/DVD/CD player. There's a bedroom area with twin beds and space for a child's bed, a stylish bathroom with bath, modern washbasin and WC. You can also connect to the internet here. The well-equipped kitchenette, with dishwasher, can be closed off from the sitting area when not in use, a really nice design feature.
· Located on the edge of the town of Lattes, you are literally 10 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from Montpellier by car. You are just a short walk to the local boulangerie, and restaurants and bars. Within Lattes is Port Ariane, a canal port and basin, a nice place to take an evening stroll and watch the boats, have an aperitif or dine out.
The Local Area
· The local town of Lattes, within walking distance – 1.5km, is well serviced with all shops, a supermarket, a bank and restaurants and bars. Ten minutes away by car is the modern lively city of Montpellier, the 8th biggest city in France and halfway between Paris and Barcelona. There is a new tramway system to take you from the outskirts of the city into the centre. It’s great for shopping, eating out and the nightlife. Enjoy sitting in the sun in one of the terrace cafes in the focal point, the Place de la Comedie.
· As well as enjoying the lovely swimming pool here, you can cycle to the beaches in about 20 minutes. You can go walking along the River Herault, or try your hand at canoeing/kayaking. Mountain biking / quad-biking, and a 4X4 experience can all be yours locally. The nearest beaches are at Carnon, Palavas, and la Grand-Motte.
· This is a good centre for exploring the Languedoc, with the Camargue only 20-25 minutes away by car, the Pont du Gard, and Sete all within a short drive.
· Markets - there is a weekly market on a Sunday in Lattes and various others in the surrounding villages.
· Restaurants – there are some good restaurants in Lattes and in Montpelllier – the owners, who live on site, will be pleased to advise you where best to go to suit your taste and budget.
· Supermarket – the nearest is just 1.5km away in Lattes.
Facilities
· Living/Dining room/Kitchenette: Are all open plan to each other. Please see the description of the interior in 'General' above and refer to the photographs. The kitchenette has a hob, a microwave, a fridge and dishwasher. The apartment is air-conditioned in summer and heated in winter.
· Utility room: There is a communal utility area with a washing machine (a small charge is made), iron and ironing board.
· Bedrooms: One bedroom with twin beds and space for a child's bed or cot if required. It's also possible to sleep one person on the sofa bed.
· Bathrooms: A stylish bathroom with a bath, washbasin and WC.
· Additional accommodation: 5 other themed apartments for 2 or 3 people.
· Outside: The apartment has its own terrace and small garden. However the 'mas' itself has over 3 acres of land and garden. There is a large lawned area around the swimming pool. There is a communal barbeque area and safe parking for your car.
· Swimming pool: The swimming pool here is delightful and crescent-shaped. It's 4.5 m wide and 16m long. There are lots of sun-loungers available for your use.
· Internet: You can connect to the internet here.
· Telephone: Sorry - there is no telephone in the apartment.
· Baby facilities: A cot for a baby is available on request.
· Winter heating: Heating in winter, and air-conditioning in summer are included in the rental cost.
· Gas, electric, & water: are all included in the rental cost.
· End-of-stay cleaning: is included in the rental cost.
· Bed & bathroom linen: is included in the rental cost.
· Taxe de Sejour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It is payable here at the rate of 0.88 Euros per person per day, direct to the owners.
· Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 500 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
· Change over day: Normally Saturday, but may be flexible out of high and peak season.
· Long weekends and mini-breaks: Possible out of high season
· Pets: small pets are permitted to stay here.
· Smoking: is not permitted here – sorry.
How To Get There
· By Car - Lattes is just 10 minutes away from Montpellier by car. The nearest motorway is the A9 Languedocienne - Exits 30 or 31.
· By Air - Montpellier, Beziers, Carcassonne and Perpignan Airports are the nearest - Montpellier Airport is about 10 minutes drive, Beziers - 45 minutes, Perpignan - 50 minutes, Carcassonne - 1hr 20 minutes. You can also use Toulouse Airport - about 90 minutes drive.
