This is one of three delightful houses are positioned by lavender fields, encircled by spectacular views of the Luberon Mountains, on one side, and medieval hilltop villages on the other, offering an idyllic spot for anyone who likes peace and quiet.

Mas St Gregoire is a two bedroom property measuring about 80m² and will sleep 4 people comfortably.

The properties are independent have their own secluded terraces and a private garden for sunny lunches & dinning under the stars. Each have breathtaking views of the landscape.

In addition to your own garden, the property stands within 4 hectares of land where the owners grow organic strawberries and raspberries, along with lavender which is used for its precious oil. A swimming pool to cool off is at your disposal, shared by the three properties and the owners.

The rural position of these properties is a welcome discovery, off the beaten track, overlooking the National Park of Luberon, yet only 5 minutes drive ( 2.5 kms ) to the charming village of Cereste.
The Local Area

Cereste is sited in the southwest corner of the Alpes-des-Haute-Provence, inside the National Park of the Luberon., known in Roman times as Catuiaca.

Part of the great roman road the via Domitia, can be seen nearby, in fact there are plenty of roman artefacts in the area.

The village was formerly fortified and the ruins of the walls are still there. There is a choice of bars plus cafes to sit outside, drink café au lait with croissants or perhaps an aperitif. So whether you fancy, having a barbecue, or a meal out, the choice is conveniently yours with several restaurants, butchers and grocery stores.

The walking and cycling options are amazing; all you need to do is literally step outside your door.

There is tennis, horse riding, and a golf course 20kms away.

This area is where lavender grows, so if you come in the flowering season, bring your camera, your paint brush, or just absorb the stunning colours, and scent. Not too far away is the popular lavender museum in Coustellet.

Visit the surrounding hilltop villages, whose narrow streets, stone houses, and coloured shutters capture the ambience of Provence, The larger towns of Avignon and Aix en Provence all can be reached by car

Markets are a way of life in Provence, a place to find delicious cheeses, sausages, in season fruit, cherries, melons, peaches, apricots, fresh vegetables, as well as being a social event for the locals. There are many to choose from with Cereste or Apt being the nearest.

The nearest supermarket is the hypermarket in Apt, 15kms away.

Living room: Mas St Gregoire is ideal for 4 people and has a living room which is open plan with a corner kitchen, dinning area and lounge area, a fire place, sofa and chairs, television, and dining table and chairs.

Kitchen: Well equipped with dish washer, oven and four gas rings, microwave, washing machine, crockery, coffee machine. Fridge/ freezer

Bedrooms: There is one bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed, 160cm × 200cm. On the first floor is the second bedroom with 2 single beds 90cm ×200cm, that can be joined together to form a double if you wish. There is also a mezzanine level with a sofa, TV and bookcase.

Bathrooms: There is one shower room, with a large shower and a separate WC

Outside: There is a barbecue, table/chairs and garden chairs for relaxing in the Provencal sunshine

Swimming pool: A splendid feature of this property, facing full south 12m × 8m shared by the 3 properties with the owner. The pool area is fenced and gated for child safety.

Baby facilities: These are available for an extra charge of €50 for cot, high chair, baby bath and alarm.

Winter heating: Metered 0.15 Euro cents per kw or per stair of wood €65

End-of-stay cleaning: Arranged by the owner for a fee of €80

Bed & bathroom linen: Can be hired if required for €15 pp including 2 towels and dishcloths/tea-towels

Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.

Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of €800 payable on arrival. This will be refunded to you after your departure less the replacement cost of any breakages.

Change over day: Normally Saturday but there is a degree of flexibility out of high season

Long weekend stays: Possible in the winter upon request

By Car - The village of Cereste lies sits on the N100, 50 minutes east of Avignon, near to Apt and Aix en Provence

By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 45 minutes drive away

By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 30 minutes away
