General Description

  • This beautiful and fully air conditioned farmhouse, with pool, sits inside a large and private courtyard. The huge typically French kitchen has a large table with seating for 8 people. 
  • There are three light and bright bedrooms on the first floor, a master suite with a super king bed, a double room and a twin bedded room. There is a large and comfortable sofa bed in the study.
  • You can enjoy the proximity of the beautiful, Luberon countryside yet be on the doorstep of the bustling town of Cavaillon making it ideal for either relaxing or a holiday of adventure.
  • On the edge of the Luberon and Les Alpillles chain of hills it is the ideal location for exploring Provence. The many beautiful villages with their daily morning markets are in abundance.

The Local Area

  • The bustling town of Cavaillon is very close to Avignon and on the doorstep of the Luberon National Park. 
  • Avignon, with all its history including the Pont St Bénézet, Palais des Papes, the Festival de Théâtre, and numerous museums and churches, is worth a visit just to soak up the pre-Roman Provence.
  • The spectacular Les Alpilles chain of hills is just a short drive away, or a visit to the historic town of St Rémy de Provence where you can wander through the fascinating Roman ruins of Glanum, or Mouriès, Maussane and Les Baux de Provence, where a visit to the Théâtre de Image is a must.
  • L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, less than ten minutes away is famous for the Antiques village and Sunday market.
  • With such a huge variety of wines to sample a tour along La Route des Vins, "the wine road" (Gigondas and "les Dentelles de Montmirail", Séguret,Vacqueyras, Châteauneuf du Pape) is a must for the budding connoisseur.
  • If its nature you're after, La Camargue National Park is an hour drive from here where you can find beaches and the traditional town of St Maries de la Mer.
  • If you are looking for a sportive holiday there’s golf, tennis, horse-riding, canoeing, hot air ballooning and lots of off road track for the hearty mountain bikers and excellent roads for the cyclists.
  • Each of the local villages has its own morning market where you can buy your fresh produce of fruit and vegetables, breads, wines and cheeses.
  • Cavaillon has an abundance of restaurants, wine bars and cafes where you can enjoy your lunchtime ‘le plat du jour’ or ‘a la carte’ in the evenings.

Facilities

  • Living Room: This welcoming space, with original stone walls and large open fireplace, has large and comfy sofas ideal for relaxing. There is a TV with French and international channels, a DVD player and Video. A large selection of DVD's are available for you to use if you wish. Doors lead onto the terrace.
  • Kitchen:  The beautiful provençal kitchen has a large and extendable table that will seat 8 people in comfort. It is fully equipped and has an old range cooker with 3 gas and 2 electric hobs and a griddle plate. There are two fridges, a microwave, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The main door leads onto the terrace.
  • Study: There is a large downstairs study with doors that open out onto the terrace.  This has a large, comfy leather sofa which can also be used as a sofabed.
  • Cave: This room is next to the study and houses an upright freezer.
  • Bedrooms: There are three bedrooms all on the first floor. The master suite has a Rococo super king bed, a chaise longue, built in wardrobes and dressing table. The second room, with its pretty decoration, has a double bed, built in wardrobe and dressing table. The third bedroom is a twin bedded room with built in wardrobe and dressing table.
  • Bathroom: The master suite has a large bathroom with bath, walk in shower, hand-basin and toilet. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, hand-basin and toilet. There is also an independent toilet.
  • Outside: The south facing courtyard (800sqm) is very private with plenty of space to relax either in the shade of the vine covered terrace or around the pool. There are lots of mature trees and shrubs. Under the terrace there is a large wooden table and chairs ideal for alfresco eating, together with a pizza oven and barbeque.
  • Parking:  There is secure parking at the house behind the automatic gates.
  • Swimming Pool:  The pool is 8 x 4 metres and is secure for children, with stone walls covered with foliage and with an access gate.
  • Internet: Full broadband and wifi internet access are available here.
  • Telephone: Is not available at the house.
  • Baby facilities: There is a cot and high chair available.
  • Bed and bathroom linens: These are included in the rental price.
  • Gas, electric and water: Is included in the rental cost
  • End-of-stay cleaning: Is included in the rental cost.
  • Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a ‘Tax de Sejour’ at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 500 Euros payable in cash or by a French cheque on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
  • Change over day: is normally Saturday, but please enquire
  • Long weekend stays and mini breaks: may be possible, please enquire.
  • Pets: Dogs are permitted at this property, please ask when you book.
  • Smoking: Is not permitted at this property - sorry
 
 

How To Get There

  • By Car - Cavaillon is easily accessed from the main A7 Autoroute de Soleil, just 10 minutes away.
  • By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 25 minutes away.
  •  By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away. Nice is about two hours drive along the autoroute.
