General Description

  • For large families, or groups of friends, this one is perfect as it sleeps up to 10 people. It’s quite unusual to find such a large, well-renovated, traditional house, with a beautiful garden and large pool, so close to a village.
  • It’s literally walking distance along the quiet road to the heart of the Provencal village of Caromb. This makes trips out to shops, restaurants and bars so much easier when there is no squabbling over who is going to drive!
  • Despite the village setting, once you’re within the walled and gated garden, this property feels calm and comfortable.
  • Whether you choose to siesta under the olive trees by the swimming pool, relax in the shade of the large terrace, or simply admire the stunning views of Mont. Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail, you’ll very quickly slip into the slower pace of life ‘en Provence’.
  • The interior of the house is huge, 250m2 of space, divided into a large sitting room with French doors onto the terrace and garden, a well-equipped kitchen, a cosy TV/reading room, a dining area and downstairs toilet.
  • Upstairs there are two double rooms and a twin room, an en-suite shower room and there’s a separate large bathroom.
  • The fourth bedroom is enormous! It has a very high-beamed ceiling and there’s plenty of room for the large mezzanine level. This room is very flexible and can accommodate 2 single beds, a sofa bed, baby cots and children’s beds on the mezzanine.
  • Although this house is available all year round, if you visit in the summer months you’ll probably spend much of you stay outside, enjoying the garden. The 10 x 5 m swimming pool is surrounded by beautiful lawns, cherry, olive and plum trees.
  • You can also practice your ‘boules’ skills on the private boules terrace, before you take on the locals in the village!

The Local Area

  • This location has the convenience of a village setting, but is ideally situated for exploring all that’s on offer in the surrounding countryside.
  • If you like to wander around the local Provencal markets, you’ll be spoilt for choice! Bedoin Carpentras, Vaison, Mazan and many other towns in the area are well known for the excellent Paysan Markets where you will find local produce, grown and sold by some real characters!
  • Vineyards, country roads and quaint village, dominate the local landscape, all gently basking in the Provencal sunshine.
  • Overlooking this vista is the giant of Mont Ventoux. This is a 2000m summit that is famous for the challenge it poses to serious cyclists. If you are in the car, it also makes for a great day out with stunning views on a clear day! (Have a look at our Cycling in Provence pages here for more information about Mont Ventoux)
  • With good restaurants in abundance in this area, it’s not difficult to spoil yourself – holidays aren’t for dieting!
  • If you like a tipple, a well-trodden wine route starts at the door of your Mas. Vaqueras, Gigondas, Cotes du Ventoux and Chateauneuf du Pape are all well known great wines of the region and are all within a thirty minute drive (Just make sure you have decided who’s driving back!)
  • If you are feeling a bit sporty, cycling, walking, rock climbing, horseriding, golf, quad biking, canoeing and even Paragliding can all be found within 20kms of the village.
