General Description
- Perfectly situated to explore the entire region of Provence this enchanting stone cottage with its pretty shutters is located in the heart of Peypin D’Aigues a virtually, undiscovered, authentic, French village on the slopes of the Grand Luberon.
- The house keeps all the typical features of Provencal design yet offers every modern comfort.
- The small village, which was founded in 1506, is ideal if you are looking for tranquillity, or a peaceful base to discover the area. With its cobbled streets, ancient buildings, and fountains, surrounded by spectacular views of the Luberon Mountains and vineyards. Sunflowers and Lavender, when in season, all contribute to the Provencal dream holiday.
- Two bedrooms, one with access to the large terrace, the other with en-suite bathroom, both have breathtaking views of the countryside and the local church.
- The ground floor has a spacious living and dinning area. Beamed ceilings and a spiral staircase are additional attributes. There is also a separate, fully equipped kitchen, an additional bathroom plus a laundry room.
The Local Area
- The local village Peypin D’Aigues has its own welcoming café/bar for morning coffee or an aperitif before dinner. You can order freshly made croissants and bread daily there too.
- Sports facilities include nearby tennis courts, walking and biking trails
- There is also swimming in the nearby lake and also fishing.
- Markets can be found at most of the Luberon villages nearby but in particular at Lourmarin and Cucuron.
- You’ll find the nearest supermarket in Pertuis, 20 minutes away.
Facilities
- Living room: Decorated with rustic Provencal furniture and fabrics, providing a cosy atmosphere. Large comfy leather sofa and armchair with fireplace, television with multi-system VCR, stereo and CD collection
- Dining area: The dining area is part of the open plan living area, and has seating for 6 persons
- Kitchen: The kitchen is well equipped, with everything you will need including a dishwasher, an oven, crockery and cutlery
- Utility room: There is a laundry room with washer and dryer
- Bedrooms The first has a queen-sized bed with direct access to the terrace. Bedroom two has a queen sized bed and en-suite bathroom with a shower. Both have polished wooden floors, antique furniture and are bright and roomy, the decorations being of excellent quality throughout.
- Bathrooms There are two bathrooms, one on the ground floor with bathtub and shower. One en-suite with shower off the second bedroom.
- Outside: There is a beautiful secluded terrace upstairs for outside dining and taking in the sun – all furniture is supplied. Perhaps the best feature of the terrace is the spectacular view. There’s also car parking available.
- Swimming pool: Unfortunately, there is no swimming pool at this property
- Internet: There is a Wi-Fi internet connection available at this property
- Telephone: There is a telephone connection available (restricted service)
- Baby facilities: There is a cot, but no highchair. It is not a property suitable for toddlers due to the spiral staircase
- Winter heating: If you feel a little chilly during the winter months, winter heating is available for a surcharge of 50 Euros per week.
- Gas, electric, & water: This is all included in the rental cost.
- End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning, and is included in the rental cost.
- Bed & bathroom linen: This is all included in the rental cost. One set is provided per week.
- Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
- Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 450 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
- Change over day: Saturday
- Long weekend stays: Not possible here I'm afraid.
- Pets: Animals are not accepted at this property – sorry.
- Smoking: Smoking is not permitted inside this property – sorry.
How To Get There
· By Car - Peypin D’Aigues is situated in the Luberon, close to Apt and Manosque. A little further away are Avignon and Aix en Provence
· By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 60 minutes drive away
- By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 60 minutes away
