General Description

  • Sunlight and warm colours pervade in this refreshingly bright and modern villa, which is in walking distance of Saint Remy de Provence a town that oozes the Provencal style of living!
  • Perfectly positioned in a new gated complex, this three-bedroomed house with private swimming pool is just right for family or friends.
  • With views from the garden towards the nearby Alpilles Mountains and the close proximity of the town, this is a brilliant base for discovering the region with its endless attractions.
  • Being recently built, there are additions such as air conditioning throughout the interior - very welcome in the warm summers- all the beds and furniture and fittings are new and the design is a clever merge of modern and traditional.
  • The enviable location with so much to do either with or without a car means an enormous amount of choice. So whether you want to splash about in the pool, or sit under the leafy plane trees in Saint Remy and sip chilled rosé while people–watching, drive to the beach or take advantage of the culture and history on offer, you certainly won’t be disappointed with your vacation here.

The Local Area

  • Scarcely a fifteen minute walk away and you enter into the fashionable town of Saint Remy which has a wealth of restaurants, sidewalk cafes, shops and cultural activities. The town is synonymous with Van Gogh (he completed 150 paintings here), the tourist office even has a Van Gogh trail you can follow and on the outskirts of the town is the major roman site of Glanum  dating right back to the 6th BC, well worth a half day exploration. Hopefully you will have time to discover the other great sightseeing opportunities in the surrounding countryside.
  • A brief drive away will bring you to Les Baux a fortified hilltop village nestled in the AlpillesMountains; here the views over the ‘Valley of Hell’- so called for its spectacular rock formation- are magnificent. Be sure to check out the’ Cathedrale des Images’ a magical slide show held in a disused quarry just outside the village.
  • Saint Remy lies between several distinguished areas of natural beauty south of the town is the Camargue, Western Europe’s largest river delta, attracting an array of flora and fauna including the Greater Flamingo, as well as the celebrated Camargue horses and bulls. To the east the LuberonNational Park, written about by Peter Mayle in his book ‘A Year in Provence’. The walled city of Avignon with the Palace of the Popes and the sophisticated city of Aix en Provence are not to be missed and of course the beach is only under an hour away.
  • Walking, biking, horse riding, tennis, golf and wine tasting are all found locally.
  • Markets: On Wednesday morning Saint Remy turns into one of the most popular markets in the area. Not only will you find delicious fresh fruit and vegetables, but cheeses, hams and other delights. If you are souvenir hunting there are stalls selling local lavender products, brightly coloured Provencal materials and pottery.
