General Description

  • This spacious and stylishly decorated house is situated at the foot of the village in a quiet location surrounded by olive groves. There is a very secure pool which sits in a 1000sqm of mature and pretty gardens.
  • The house has two double suites, one at either end of the property and with another bedroom with four single beds, sleeping 6 – 8 people comfortably. The living room, dining room and kitchen are open plan with two French windows leading out on to a large covered terrace and is perfect for alfresco eating.

  • Seillans is in a great location, whether for relaxing or adventuring further afield to sample the many delights of the region, such as wine tasting and olive tasting. With so many nearby villages and towns to visit, each with something different to offer, you might have to come back the following year!

The Local Area

  • Seillans is a pretty medieval perched hill-top village and features a delightful 13th century church at its summit. Nearby are rustic chapels, vineyards, forests and olive groves. 
  • Sports facilities/Activities: Visit the local arts galleries, arts and crafts potteries and classical concerts held in picturesque venues. If you fancy a game of golf you can visit Terre Blanche which is just 10 kilometres away or a little further afield the infamous Royal Mougins Golf Resort. The lake St Cassien is a beautiful wild lake where you can do all kinds of water sports from boating, fishing or swimming. There are lots of paths if you enjoy hiking.
  • Sightseeing: There are several Mediterranean beaches within easy reach by car. Mandelieu-La Napoule (30min), Golf de Fréjus (30min), St. Raphael (30min), Cannes (35min). For Ste Maxime and St. Tropez take the ferry from St Raphael instead of driving. Also, there are plenty of other hill-top villages to visit, especially on their market days.
  • Markets: A joyous occasion is to visit the weekly market where you can purchase all the locally grown and seasonal fruit and vegetables, flowers, olives, cheese and wine. Ideal for lunches or aperitifs on the terrace. There are markets in Fayence, just 10 minutes away, on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings.
  • Restaurants: For a delicious lunch or dinner, a visit to any of the three excellent restaurants in the village is a must. You can sit and while away the hours in the shade of the glorious Platane at La Gloire de Mon Pere or Le Relais d'Olea or spend a little more and enjoy the Les Deux Rocs. If you just fancy a snack then there is also a bar in the village.
  • Supermarkets: There is a small supermarket in the village as well as two boulangeries, a butchers, a pharmacy, a delicatessen, and a tabac (newsagents). There is a large supermarket - 'Super U' in Fayence.

Facilities

  • Living/Dining Room:  is very spacious and comfortable with two French windows leading out on to the sunny south facing terrace. There is a large dining table and chairs, two comfy leather sofas, a flat screen TV receiving Freeview.
  • Kitchen:  is separated from the open living area by a beautiful granite breakfast bar.  The kitchen is very modern and well equipped with a new American style fridge/freezer with ice maker, a gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
  • Bedrooms: there are three bedrooms, all on the ground floor.  The two spacious king-sized bedrooms have their own bathroom and are at each end of the house. Both of these bedrooms have French windows opening out on to the terrace.  The third bedroom, with four single beds, is off the living room and has a shower and washbasin.  This is ideal for children sharing a room.
  • Bathrooms:   there are two suites, one with a large shower and one with a bath. There is also a shower and washbasin in bedroom 3 and a separate toilet in the living area.  There is a further toilet and washbasin on the mezzanine floor.
  • Other rooms:  there is a first floor mezzanine with a beautiful view of the village, which is used as a study.  It is large and comfortable with 2 sofas where you can relax, read or work at the computer.  There is a toilet next to the study.
  • Outside:  there is a large and very attractive garden (1000sqm) with lots of beautiful plants and mature shrubs and trees.  Leading from the house via the French windows there is a private, south facing terrace with a large table and chairs under a retractable awning and with a built in barbeque.  There is ample space for parking cars.
  • Swimming Pool: is very secure for children with protective railings and a child-proof gate (obligatory in France). The pool which is 12m x 6m, has a shallow end, sloping to a depth of 3 metres.  For the energetic, there is a table tennis table. Pool/beach towels are not supplied.
  • Internet: connection is available for your laptop via Wi-Fi.
  • Telephone: is available at the house
  • Baby facilities:  there is a  high chair and cot available, but no bedding.
  • Bed and Bathroom linen: these are included in the rental cost, except for a baby, and please take you own pool/beach towels.
  • Winter Lets: please enquire.
  • Gas, electric and water: is included in the rental cost
  • End-of-stay cleaning: is included in the rental cost.
  • Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a ‘Tax de Sejour’ at the end of your stay.  It has been included here in the rental cost.
  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of £300 payable by cheque when the final payment is made. This will be returned to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
  • Change over day: is normally Saturday, but please enquire
  • Long weekend stays and mini breaks: may be possible, please enquire.
  • Pets: are not permitted here - sorry
  • Smoking: is not permitted inside this property - sorry

How To Get There

  • By Car – Bringing your car could be a good alternative to flying as the roads are so well maintained and a pleasure to drive.  Seillans is approximately 30 minutes from the A8 autoroute.
  • By Air - The nearest international airport to this property is Nice which is only 1 hour away.
  • By Train - The Eurostar/TGV high speed train runs from London to Draguignan which is approximately 1 hour from Seillans.
