General Description

• This property, Gite St Elodie, is just beautiful!  The actual building is a lovely traditional 'mas' which has been really tastefully renovated, both externally but especially inside  The standard of the fittings and the finish is really quite exceptional and very well done.

• What you actually get here is a two bedroom Gite, with great kitchen and dining facilities, furnished to a high standard.  There is also a pool and garden available which is shared with the other three properties

• It is set in beautiful open countryside, lavender fields and meadows around you, in a location that is ideal for visiting the local villages towns attractions and countryside.  There are three villages nearby and there are a couple of highly recommended restaurants nearby

• The other key feature of this property is the lovely terrace, some 68m² to enable you to take advantage of the lovely Provencal sunshine!

The Local Area

• The property is ideally situated in the middle of three typical Provencal villages; Gordes, Roussillon and Goult, each about 4 km away.

• The local villages are all well serviced with bakers, butchers, grocers and restaurants

• There are weekly market, cafes, bars and restaurants in all the villages.  Markets can also be found at a host of other local towns, Isle sur le Sorgue, Cavaillon, Apt

• Sports facilities and activities nearby include Tennis courts, walking and biking trails,  horse riding, Golf and Kayaking in L'Isle sur La Sorgue

• As you'd expect, there are some excellent restaurants in the area, not only in the nearby villages but also in the countryside in large old properties.

• You’ll find the nearest larger supermarkets in Cavaillon, L'Isle sur la Sorgue or Apt all within 10kms

Facilities

• The overall size of the Gite Ste Elodie is 80m² and the private terraces add another 48 and 20 m²
• Living Room: Along with the comfortable seating, the living room has a flat screen TV and DVD player
• Dining room: The dining area, located just off the kitchen and in the main living room
• Kitchen: The kitchen is very well equipped with a fridge/freezer, ceramic hot plates, dish washer, cooker, microwave, cafetiere duo, toaster, electric kettle, and all the plates, pots and pans that you would need.
• Utility room: There is a communal area with a washing machine/laundry facilities should you need it
• Bedrooms: Upstairs, there is a double bedroom with a large 180 x 200 cm bed and a twin room with 2 80 X 200 beds.  These can be pushed together if required. 
• Bathrooms: There is a bathroom with a bath and WC as well as a separate WC downstairs
• Outside: There is a lot of space here to wear your children out!  Some 5ha of grounds are available and immediately outside the property is a 1ha meadow which you are welcome to use.  The owners provide table tennis and badmington equipment in case you are feeling active. Lavender fields surround the property so it really is a delightful spot!
• Swimming pool: The pool is a large 12m x 6m and has a decked border for relaxing and sun bathing.  The area is fenced off and also separate (about 50 metres away) from the house,  meaning the terraces and immediate vicinity of the house remain calm and peaceful.
• Internet: Not available at the property I'm afraid, but there is an Internet cafe in Goult and access at the library in Gordes. 
• Telephone: is not available here - sorry.
• Baby facilities: a baby cot and high chair are available for 6 euros per week.
• Winter heating: is included in the rental cost.
• Gas, electric & water: are all included in the rental cost.
• End-of-stay cleaning: there is a charge of  50  Euros payable directly to the owners.
• Bed & bathroom linen: Bed linen is included in the rental cost, towels are an optional extra at 6 euros per week. You can also hire pool towels for 6 euros per week. 
• Taxe de Séjour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” for your holiday. It is approximately one euro per person per day and is payable on arrival.  Children are exempt
• Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of  500  Euros on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.  You are welcome to pay this by cheque which can then be returned to you at the end of the stay.
• Change over day: is normally a Saturday but the owners may be flexible upon request.
• Long weekend stays: are also possible at this property outside of high season
• Pets: are not permitted at this property - sorry.
• Smoking: is not permitted inside this property – sorry.
• Bookings:  Please note bookings in the July and August 2011 are by the fortnight only

How To Get There

 

• By Car - Follow directions to Gordes, a 30 minute drive from the exit for 'Cavaillon' on the motorway A7

• By Air - Marseille Avignon and Nimes Airports are the nearest - all less than a  60 minute drive away

• By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 50 minutes away
