General Description

  • Gite St Sophie is perfect if you’re looking for calm, tranquillity, open space and ‘real Provence’
  • It sits in a lovely location, at the end of a farm track, surrounded by 7 hectares of vineyards. Throughout the year the landscape and colours change and the in summer the vines come right up to the terrace of your gite.
  • The Gite is a traditional building with a large and welcoming dining kitchen, a cosy living room and interesting ‘millers’ stairs that lead up to double bedroom. You may find it hard to get out of bed in the mornings as from a horizontal position you can look out of the bedroom window and admire the fantastic view of the Luberon hills.
  • There is a 8 x 4 m private pool, adjacent to the Gite, ideal for cooling off and admiring the views of the surrounding countryside.  The pool is protected by an alarm.
  • Despite it’s rural location, this gite is only 3 km from the small town of Pertuis, which is really convenient for shops, cafes and restaurants.
  • This place is ideal for a couple or family with 1 child who want a relaxed and comfortable holiday home away from the crowds.
  • In addition, the owners have recently buil an ensuite double bedroom close by the original building. This makes the property ideal for 4 adults or a family with older children.

The Local Area

  • Despite its quiet location, your gite is only a short drive from the town of Pertuis where you'll find shops, bars, cafés and supermarket
  • If you fancy a more rural approach to shopping, there are some great local Paysan Markets. Every day of the week, in a host of villages nearby, local growers gather to sell their produce; Springtime brings fresh strawberries, green and white asparagus, cherries in May and June, with tomatoes olives garlic and courgettes all grown locally and available practically all year round.
  • The winding roads of the Luberon, with spectacular views, are great to explore and you'll find lots of charming villages (Gordes, Menerbes, Maubec, and Bonnieux) on the doorstep.
  • If you are feeling energetic, the hills around the gite have some great cycling and walking tracks, there are tennis courts available in Pertuis and this area is perfect for climbing and golf.
  • If visiting is your thing, you really are spoilt for choice. From the Roman architecture at Arles, the Palace of Popes at Avignon, and the cultured avenues of Aix en Provence to the local vineyards, the Carmargue National Park and the Regional Park of the Luberon, there really is too much to do in one visit.
  • The sea is under an hour away, with the beautiful Callanques of Marseille to explore as well as any number of the local fishing ports you can find on the coast.
