  • It shares a new pool and very large garden with the other gites and is surrounded by orchards, vineyards and olive groves. It’s only 2 km from the delightful village of Maillane and 5 km from the well-known town of St Remy de Provence.
  • The interior is very clean, light and airy with an open plan living/dining area, corner kitchen and a shower room. Upstairs there are two bedrooms – a double and a twin, ideal for families or 2 couples.

The Local Area

 
  • Maillane (2km from your gite) is a typical Provencal village with a bakers, grocers, post office, and a couple of very good restaurants and cafes.
  • The gite is situated in the heart of the fruit and olive growing region and you’ll find plenty of wonderful local markets in nearly villages and towns such as St Remy de Provence, Maussane and Graveson, to mention just a few.
  • It's also a great location for sport and leisure; there’s tennis courts, a golf course and cycle hire close by and the areas always popular for walking, mountain biking and horse riding on the paths that cross the stunning limestone scenery.
  • Just 5Km away you can visit St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture and Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations is just up the road
  • Also within easy reach are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence .
  • For the nature lover there is the Camargue including an ornithological park

Facilities

·         Living room: The living/dining area is comfortably furnished, with a dining table and four chairs, and a sofa bed with coffee table and TV.

·         Kitchen: The kitchen is very well equipped with all that you’ll need; Fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, as well as pots/pans/crockery etc.

·         Bedrooms: Upstairs there’s a large double bedroom with a comfortable double bed, as well a twin room containing two single beds.

·         Bathrooms: This gite has a single shower room, containing shower and toilet.

·         Outside: If you visit during the spring or summer you’ll probably spend most of your time outside - relaxing in the sunshine or dining in the warm Provencal evenings! To allow you to do this, the gite has its own, shaded, private terrace with garden furniture and a BBQ.  The gite also shares a large garden and swimming pool with three other gites on the site.  There’s also plenty of car parking space.

·         Swimming pool: The good-sized 10m x 5m swimming pool is shared only between the three gites on this tranquil site, so you can be assured of a refreshing dip during the brilliant summer days.

·         Baby facilities: A cot and high chair is available, so just let us know what you need when you book!

·         Winter heating: If you stay during the winter months, there is a small charge for winter heating, which depends on the consumption of electricity.

·         Electricity & water: These are included in the rental cost.

·         End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges the end-of-stay cleaning, and this is included in the rental cost.

·         Bed & bathroom linen: Bed linen is provided in the price and you can hire towels for 6 Euros per person per week

·         Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay, which, unfortunately, is an extra to the cost of your holiday.

·         Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 300 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

·         Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible

·         Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.

·         Pets: Small, well behaved, pets are permitted at this property, but please let us know if you plan to bring yours. 

How To Get There

·         By Car - Maillane is situated approximately 15 minutes south of Avignon, 20 minutes north of Salon-de-Provence and 30 minutes to the east of Arles

 

·         By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away

 

·         By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 20 minutes away
