General Description

• Villa St Alexandre has an amazing location, right in the centre of the much sought after village of Bonnieux, in the Luberon hills. You’d never know it was there as it’s tucked away in a secluded spot close to the medieval ramparts.
• One big advantage of being perched on the hillside amongst the original village buildings is the fantastic view from the villa and garden. You overlook the whole valley and could easily spend a good part of your stay watching country life go by amongst the vineyards and farms below.
• Despite it’s village centre location the villa has a lovely garden and swimming pool and once you’re within its walls you’ll notice the peace and tranquillity.
• The villa is split into 2 separate apartments, one either side of the pool. Each has a double bedroom, a shower room and toilet, and a small living room. Only one of them has a kitchen so the whole place is obviously only rented out to one party.

• This place is ideal for 2 couples, or a family with older children who want the luxury of a gorgeous garden and pool, along with the convenience of being in a village.

The Local Area

• The winding roads of the Luberon, with spectacular views, are great to explore and you'll find loads of picturesque villages (Gordes, Menerbes, Maubec) on the doorstep and no doubt you'll want to stop and take some refreshments!
• Just a short drive away there's a great Sunday morning market at Coustellet and the larger town of Apt is only 15 minutes away.
• There's lots to do and see in the area; St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture, Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, famous as an antique centre and market. Also within easy reach are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence.
• If activity is your thing, this area is perfect for climbing, cycling, mountain biking, trekking, golf, tennis and swimming.
• The village of Bonnieux has a rich and varied history and is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Luberon.

Facilities

 

•  Living room: Both apartments at this property have their own living/dining area, equipped with comfortable sofas, and dining facilities.  One apartment also has a TV.
• Kitchen: The villa’s kitchen is very well equipped, and has both a dishwasher and washing machine.
• Bedrooms: Each apartment has a well-furnished double bedroom, containing a double bed
• Bathrooms: In each apartment, there is a bathroom containing a shower, toilet and sink
• Outside: During those Provencal summers, you’ll probably spend most of your time in the pretty garden admiring the panoramic views.  There’s plenty of furniture for eating outside, allowing you to take full advantage of this property and there is also a charcoal BBQ for cooking in the garden.  Parking is available in the village, just a short stroll from the property.  
• Swimming pool: The outside swimming pool measures 5m x 3m, and is protected by an alarm.  It is in a very private location and is fully south facing.
• Internet: Unfortunately, there is no internet connection at the villa, but there are several cafes in the village with wifi access.
• Telephone: There is a telephone connection provided for a cost of €5 which includes all local calls in the Vaucluse department.  All other calls will be billed upon usage.
• Winter heating: Winter heating is included here in the cost of the rental.
• Gas, electric, & water: Are all included in the rental cost.
• End-of-stay cleaning: This is included in the rental cost.
• Bed & bathroom linen: This is all included in the rental cost but please remember to bring towels for the swimming pool.
• Taxe de Sejour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
• Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 500 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
• Change over day: Saturday during high season, but flexibility is possible during the low season
• Long weekend stays: Long weekend stays are not usually permitted during the high season, but flexibility is possible during the low season
• Pets: Are not permitted at this property - sorry.
• Other information: This property is recommended for two couples or a couple with older children.  It’s also not recommended for people with mobility difficulties, as there are 53 steps to reach the Gite, due to its spectacular location.

How To Get There

• By Car - The village of Bonnieux lies just 10 minutes off the N99, 10 minutes east of Cavaillon.
• By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 50 minutes drive away
• By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 25 minutes away
