General Description

 

  • This delightful, Provencal-style one bedroom gîte near Grasse benefits from a lovely large swimming pool and is set within beautiful gardens with views down to the sea. It’s attached to the side of the owner’s home, who are a charming couple, discreetly on hand to help you with any aspect of your holiday.

  • Approximately 60 sq metres in size, the accommodation comprises a bright, sunny living room, a well-equipped kitchen area, one double bedroom, one shower room, large terrace, large swimming pool, beautifully landscaped gardens and parking for two cars.

  • It’s in a quiet location near to the old village of Plascassier, and not far from the larger village of Mouans-Sartoux or the town of Grasse.

  • The owners are very hospitable and have paid very good attention to detail. A welcome pack of essentials like milk, orange juice, coffee, wine and water await you on arrival.

  • Prices quoted are based on an occupancy of 2 adults; a supplement applies for additional people, up to a maximum of 4 – please ask for details.

  • This property would be ideal for 2-4 people looking for well-appointed accommodation with a private pool and easy access to explore the local area.

The Local Area

 

  • Local shops, a boulangerie, restaurants and a supermarket can be found just 500 metres away in the lovely old village of Plascassier. A wider range of facilities and restaurants can also be found nearby in the larger village of Mouans-Sartoux.

  • Local markets are held in Mouans-Sartoux every Tuesday and Thursday mornings and in Valbonne on a Friday morning.

  • Sporting activities in the area are abundant– there is golf, tennis and horse riding and as you are in very close proximity to the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes, walking and cycling are also very popular.

  • Beaches can be found not too far away in Cannes and Antibes, approximately 15 km.

  • The ski stations of Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are approximately 1 hour’s drive away if you fancy a couple of days winter sports!

  • Getting around there is a bus stop approximately 400 metres away from the gite and the train station of Mouans-Sartoux is approx 5km. The owner however insists that a car is essential from here.

  • Sightseeing is endless; the nearest places of interest are the perfumeries of Grasse, Marineland at Antibes, the Festival of Cannes, the glassmakers at Biot, the potteries of Vallauris, the picturesque villages of Valbonne and Mougins and of course the beautiful countryside all around.

  • Other entertainment includes the beach, the casinos & nightlife of Cannes, boat trips, cinemas, wine tasting, or just good old relaxing by the pool!

Facilities

 

  • Living room: is very bright with sliding glazed doors on 2 sides, giving great views over the gardens and pool. There is a wicker sofa and armchairs, a double sofa bed (140x200cm) a dining table and 4 chairs, a TV (Satellite), and a DVD and video player.

  • Kitchen: is in one corner, open plan to the bedroom, and is very well equipped with a combined microwave/oven, a hob, a fridge, a dishwasher, a coffee machine, and a breakfast bar with 2 stools. The owner even includes the basic ingredients for cooking!

  • Utility room: in a separate building nearby there are a washing machine, iron and ironing board. A freezer can also be made available for stays of a long duration.

  • Bedrooms: The bedroom has lovely high ceilings and is beautifully designed in a lilac Provencal style, with a double bed, a chaise longue and a wardrobe (with a safe). There are sliding glazed doors with views to the mountains, and electric sun canopies. No A/C but there’s a fan. For additional sleeping there is also a sofa bed for 2 people (140x200cm) in the living room.

  • Bathrooms: there is one well-appointed shower room with a shower cubicle, WC, washbasin and hairdryer.

  • Outside: there is a large terrace around the living room, which continues to the 3000 square metres of south facing, landscaped gardens planted with mimosa, olive trees, palm trees, roses and rosemary. The gîte has its own private part of the gardens, with views down to the sea, and there is a table and 4 chairs under a canopy. There is a barbeque and parking for up to two cars.

  • Swimming pool: is approximately 13 x 6.5 metres, with safety alarm and private to the villa. It is used by the owners only when it is not being used by the holiday renters.

  • Internet: connection is available for your laptop via Wi-Fi.

  • Telephone: is not available here - sorry.

  • Baby facilities: a cot and high chair are available upon request.

  • Winter heating: is included in the rental cost.

  • Gas, electric, & water: are all included in the rental cost.

  • End-of-stay cleaning: has been priced separately, so that if you are staying for more than 1 week you are not paying in duplicate. It is 60 Euros and is paid directly to the owner.

  • Bed & bathroom linen: has been priced separately to give you the option to take your own. If you wish to hire these from the owner, bed linen is available for 20 Euros for the double bed, and towels are 10 Euros per two people, paid directly to the owner.

  • Taxe de Sejour: in France, it is usually necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay; however it does not apply to this property.

  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 200 euros on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

  • Change over day: is normally a Saturday but the owners may be flexible upon request.

  • Long weekend stays: are possible at this property – please ask for details.

  • Pets: small dogs may be considered here – please enquire.

  • Smoking: is not permitted inside this property – sorry.

How To Get There

 

  • By Car – The roads and autoroutes in France are a pleasure, so driving can sometimes make a good alternative to flying – at least you’ll already have your car with you! From the UK you have the choice of using the ferries or the Eurotunnel for your crossing. Once in the South of France, this property can be easily accessed via the A8 autoroute.

  • By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport – approximately 20 kilometres away. There are daily flights from the UK with British Airways, British Midland, Easyjet and Jet2.

  • By Train – Eurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice.
