General Description
- The delightful Pays d'Oc exclusive holiday complex offers a wide choice of accommodation. It is situated in a lovely area adjacent to the Domaine de St Thomas - Beziers's premier Mediterranean Golf Course - and only 12 kms from the beaches of Cap d'Agde. It is just 20 kms from Beziers Vias Cap d'Agde Airport, and within a short drive of the A9 Langudocienne Autoroute. This lovely villa has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 in comfort. There is a delightful shared swimming pool on site.
- The villa has a surface area of around 70 square meters and comprises a living room, a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with separate WC, a shower room with a separate WC, and a terrace with quality garden furniture. There a 3 bedrooms: 2 double rooms and 1 twin room. Further sleeping accommodation for an extra 2 people can be provided by utilising the convertible sofa bed in the living room. Internet access (WiFi) is available at the reception office.
- The setting is attractive with a lovely swimming pool and sunbathing area centrally placed in the complex. There is also a sauna and a small gym. If you are a keen golfer you can play on St Thomas's golf course at preferential rates.
The Local Area
- Bessan is the local village, noted for its historical centre, and where you will find day-to-day shopping. Here you will also find tours around the Paul Ricard caves (the famous French aperitif 'pastis'). Beziers is just a short drive away (8 miles) and has everything you need: supermarkets,restaurants, cafe-bars, shops, a great indoor market - and a yearly 'Feria' where the town is taken over by musicians and street markets for 4 days - not to be missed if you are here at the time. Nearby (12 kms) Cap d'Agde with its magnificent port has great cafes, restaurants, nightclubs and casinos.
- Sports Facilites: Golf, swimming, and a gym are there on site for you. Watersports lovers will find all those you enjoy at the Mediterranean coast. Half an hour away you'll find yourself in another world amongst the gorges and lakes of the Languedoc National Park. Here there are fantastic walks, swimming and watersports at the Lac du Salagou.
- Sightseeing: There's much to see and do in this region. On the coast you have Sete, Marseiilan, Laras and Portiragnes - and wonderful long sandy beaches - Sete is criss-crossed by canals and is famous for its water-jousting competitions, Marseillan is a characterful fishing port - seafood from the Bassin de Thau is a speciality arond here. Inland you have the lovely old town of Pezenas where Moliere wrote some of his plays - it has winding streets, and lovely shops.
- Agde is charming with its beuatiful painted village houses - it's the best place to buy freshly-caught fish in this region. Beziers is an interesting city - the rugby capital of the South of France - the staircase of 9 locks on the Canal du Midi at Fontseranes is very interesting. Further afield, why not visit Carcassonne, the Roman arena in Nimes, or the Pont du Gard?
- Activities: This ares is France's biggest wine-producing area and there are lots of opportunities for wine-tasting 'degustations' and buying wine direct from the producers. Children will love Aqualand - a large water park - near Cap d'Agde.
- Supermarkets: The nearest large supermarkets are on the outskirts of Beziers.
Facilities
- Living/Dining Room: Attractively and comfortably furnished with a Moroccan influence in the design of the furniture - light and bright with French windows opening out onto a terrace/garden. Rental of a TV receiving mainly French channels is possible for 40 Euros per week, payable direct. Some English language news channels will be available for 2010.
- Kitchen: Well equipped with hob, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee-maker. A washing machine is available.
- Bedrooms: A double bedroom and a twin bedroom on the ground floor, one double bedroom on the upper floor - attractively furnished in Moroccan style.
- Bathrooms: A bathroom and separate WC on the ground floor - a shower room and separate WC on the upper floor.
- Photographs: The photographs shown show the general styling, furniture and decor of the apartments and villas at Domaine du Lac. Each apartment and villa varies slightly in shape and layout - the furnishings and decor are similar, but not identical, in all.
- Additional Accommodation: There are other villas and apartments available here sleeping 2 - 8/10 people - please enquire.
- Outside: Outside you will find a pleasant terrace/garden with outdoor furniture. The villa has its own garage for parking your car.
- Swimming Pool: There is a lovely shared swimming pool area with sun-loungers for sun-bathing. There's also a sauna and a small gym.
- Internet: WiFi internet access is available in the Reception Office.
- Telephone: There is no landline telephone available in the villa.
- Baby Facilities: A cot is available to hire for 20 Euros per week, payable direct. Please notify us when booking if you require a cot.
- Winter Heating: Is included in the price.
- Electric and Water: Are included in the rental cost.
- End of Stay Cleaning: Is not included in the rental cost. You can arrange for it to be done for you for 80 Euros - payable in advance at the Reception Office.
- Bed and Bathroom Linen: Bed linen is included for you in the rental price. Bathroom towels may be hired for 8 Euros per person per week, payable direct - please reserve in advance if you require these.
- Taxe de Sejour: Is payable here on arrival at the guide rate of 1 Euro per person over the age of 12 years, per night.
- Damage Deposit: The owners request a damage deposit of 460 Euros payable on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay less the replacement cost of any breakages or damage.
- Change Over Day: Saturdays only in July and August. In other months alternative days are possible, subject to availability.
- Long Weekend Stays and Mini Breaks: Are possible subject to availability outside the months of July and August.
- Pets: Are pemitted with prior permission - there is a charge payable on arrival of 35 Euros per stay.
How To Get There
- By Car: The property is situated to the West of Beziers off Junction 34 of the A9 Autoroute.
- By Air: The nearest airport is Beziers/Vias/Cap d'Agde - less than a 1/2 hour drive and serviced by Ryanair from the UK. Other local airports are Montpellier (45 mins drive) and Carcassonne ( approx 1 hour's drive). Other options would be Toulouse, Perpignan, Girona (N. Spain) or Nimes.
- By Train: The nerest railway station is Beziers-Sud - 10kms. We would recommend the use of a car here.
