General Description

  • This spacious studio apartment is set within a small privately owned, holiday residence near to Carros. The residence is immaculately kept, secure and has a fantastic swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi!
  • The apartment is approximately 30 sq metres and comprises of a living room/bedroom, a separate kitchen, a large bathroom, a small private terrace and parking for two cars.
  • Within the residence there is a total of eleven properties, ranging from studio, one and two bedroom, so if your party requires additional accommodation please ask us for suggestions. In some instances it is possible to combine two properties together, via an interconnecting door.
  • Set in a quiet location, the residence is close to the town, shops and restaurants of Carros. It has easy access to the A8 autoroute and is ideally placed to visit Nice and the surrounding villages.
  • It has a maximum occupancy of 2 (plus baby) and would be ideal for a couple.

 

The Local Area

  • Local shops and a boulangerie can be found just 800 metres away and the nearest restaurant just 300 metres. The local town of Carros, just 3km away, offers you a supermarket and more extensive shopping facilities. Carros Village, a medieval, perched village is also not far away - here you can wander through the charming little streets and admire the views down the valley from the various lookouts. There are more restaurants here too. The neighbouring towns and villages of Gattières, St Jeanette and Vence also offer more choice of shopping and facilities.
  • Local markets are held in Nice, Antibes and Biot. The most well known market is held in the ‘Cours Saleya’ in Nice, adjacent to the old town, and offers an array of olives, flowers and fresh produce. There is also an antiques market held here on a Monday.
  • Sporting activities in the area are abundant– there is tennis (3km), golf, sailing, diving, fishing, water sports and canyoning. You are also in very close proximity to the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes region here, which makes walking and cycling very popular.
  • Beaches can be found approx 15km away at both St Laurent du Var and Nice. From here you can enjoy the sunshine glittering on the azur blue waters of the Med, watch the many boats crossing the ‘Baie des Anges’, and see the planes and helicopters coming in and out of the airport.
  • The ski stations of Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are approximately 1 hour’s drive away (70km) if you fancy a couple of days winter sports; this property is ideally located for easy access to the road which takes you up to the mountains.
  • Getting around is easier from here if you have a car. There is a bus service approximately 3km away, and the train 15km, but a car would be preferred.
  • Sightseeing is endless; you have the charming perched village of Carros; the town and open-air Opera Festival of Gattieres; the old town of Vence; the art galleries of St Paul-de-Vence; the historical old town of Nice; the restaurants and yachts in the port of Nice; a stroll along the Promenade des Anglais; the views from the Chateau of Nice; the Museums of Art in Nice; the animals & plants at Parc Phoenix; the marine park at Marineland, Antibes; the water park at Aquasplash; the charming Mediterranean town of Villefranche-sur-Mer; the zoo and coastal walk around Cap-Ferrat; it is also possible to cross over the border to experience the flavour of Italy!
  • Other entertainment includes shopping, casinos & nightlife of Nice, boat trips, cinemas, wine tasting, helicopter rides, or just good old relaxing by the pool!

 

Facilities

 

  • Living room: is brightly coloured and is furnished with 2 single beds, a coffee table, a small dining table and 2 chairs, TV (French plus CNN), Hi-Fi, CD and DVD player. There are double doors giving you access out on to a small private terrace.

  • Kitchen: is separate to the living room and is well equipped for cooking and dining. It has an oven, electric hob, fridge, freezer compartment, microwave, small dishwasher, coffee machine and toaster.

  • Utility room: there are washing, drying and ironing facilities available in a clean and tidy communal area.

  • Bathroom: there is a good-sized bathroom with a bath, a shower over, double washbasins, a WC, a hairdryer, fully tiled walls and a window.

  • Additional accommodation: it is also possible to rent other properties within this residence – please ask for details.

  • Outside: In addition to the fantastic communal gardens, pool and spa facility, this property also has its own small private terrace, with a table and 2 chairs and covered by a pergola. There is parking for up to 2 cars in the nearby parking area.

  • Swimming pool: is fantastic here! It’s very large (approx 20x13 metres) and oval shaped with small planted peninsulas and waterfalls. It’s ideal for children to play in and enclosed by a perimeter fence. There are many sun loungers around it, laid south and west facing, and open from April to November the pool house has a superb Jacuzzi, sauna and WC’s.

  • Internet: connection is included here for your laptop, via Wi-Fi.

  • Telephone: is available here, with free local calls.

  • Baby facilities: a baby-cot and high chair can be made available upon request.

  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 300 Euros on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

  • Bed & bathroom linen: are included in the rental.

  • Electric & water: are included in the rental.

  • Winter heating: is included in the rental.

  • End-of-stay cleaning: has been priced separately so that if you are staying for more than 1 week, you are not paying for it more than once. This is 40 Euros and is paid directly to the owners.

  • Taxe de Séjour: in France, it is necessary to pay this at the end of your stay. For this property it is 0.65 Euros per adult, per day, and is payable directly to the owner.

  • Change over day: is normally a Saturday however the owners may be flexible upon request.

  • Long weekend stays: are not possible here – one week minimum stay.
     
  • Pets: are not permitted here - sorry.

  • Smoking: is not permitted inside this property - sorry.

  • Supplementary services: the owner is able to arrange the following services for you, as a supplement: Massage; Daily bread deliveries. There is also a small office at the entrance to the residence, where the owner welcomes you and can provide details of attractions and facilities in the area.

How To Get There

  • By Car – The roads and autoroutes in France are a pleasure, so driving can sometimes make a good alternative to flying – at least you’ll already have your car with you! From the UK you have the choice of using the ferries or the Eurotunnel for your crossing. Once in the South of France, this property can be easily accessed via the A8 autoroute.
  • By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport – approximately 15 kilometres away. There are daily flights from the UK – please see the timetables here www.nice.aeroport.fr
  • By TrainEurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice. The nearest train station to this property is approximately 15km away.
