General Description
· Exceptionally well located, Cana Sofía is set up in the hills overlooking Cala Vadella beach. With its private pool, large terrace and fantastic views, this 100 year old villa is a real find. Not to mention of course, that it´s only a stone´s throw away from one of the best beaches on the island.
· Incredibly well equipped (including broad band internet access) this attractive rustic villa comes complete with its own fruit trees and large terrace. Perfect for enjoying the stunning sunsets for which Ibiza has become famous.
· One of the most attractive features of this property is its wonderful country style kitchen, lovingly restored by the owner, who’s Michelin starred restaurant can be found on the beach.
· Ample living space for 8, four bedrooms, three bathrooms and views over the countryside from every angle.
· Everything you could possibly need right on your doorstep and a truly secluded location, Cana Sofía affords the ideal mix of a peaceful getaway and all the sophistication of the amazing destination that is Ibiza.
The Local Area
· Beaches: Located overlooking Cala Vadella beach, this is high on the list of reasons to stay at Cana Sofía. Cala Vadella has the reputation of being one of the best beaches on the island. Surrounded by pine clad hills, the fine white sand slopes gently down into shallow waters making this beach ideal for the kids. Beautiful sunsets and never too crowded, Cala Vadella thoroughly deserves its reputation. Also, only a five minute drive away, are the neighbouring coves of Cala D´Hort and Cala Carbó. This South West coast of the island really is ideal for beach lovers, affording amazing sunsets and shallow crystal clear waters. Ideal for water sports, perfect for the kids or simply enjoying the sun on some of the most unspoilt beaches in the Mediterranean.
· Watersports: Cala Vadella has its own dive school on the beach and for the less adventurous there is plenty of excellent snorkelling.
· Cala Vadella: Cala Vadella village has grown around the beach in order to offer all the essential services. Small supermarkets for food shopping, car hire, cash points, souvenirs etc. As well as some excellent restaurants. It´s so well serviced that there is no need to move further than your doorstep should you not wish too.
· Sightseeing: Only a ten minute drive away San José is definitely worth a visit. A typical white washed ibicenco village with lots of charm, it has everything to offer. Sophisticated restaurants, typical tapas bars, and a plethora of shops selling everything from a traditionally woven basket to a designer bag. Open air cinema and live jazz are also the highlights of this, one of my favourite villages on the island.
· Dining: First of all, no dining recommendation would be complete without mentioning our property owners own restaurant, also named Cana Sofía. Right on the beach with a huge terrace and ample inside dining, I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Run by Moisés and his wife, this is one of the few restaurants on the island to have the Spanish equivalent of a Michelin star. Moisés himself is currently runner up chef of the year for the whole of the Balearics and 5th in the nationwide competition. Cala Vadella has some great beach bars and restaurants but this is without doubt my favourite. A hidden gem!
· Getting around: Local buses are plentiful and run practically around the clock, but order in order to make the most of your visit to the island, a car is recommended.
· Nightlife: Ibiza is world famous for its´ nightlife and whilst Cana Sofía is quietly tucked away, for those of you who couldn´t go home without having experienced it, Amnesia and Privilege are only a twenty minute drive away.
Facilities
· Living room: Comfortable living room area with large plasma TV (international), DVD and video. Opening out onto the terrace and swimming pool area.
· Kitchen: Beautiful country style kitchen with adjacent dining area, original oak beams and open fire. Exceptionally well-equipped for cooking and dining (the property owner is an award winning chef!) it has an electric oven & hob, a microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster and coffee machine.
· Utility room: iron & ironing board. Washing machine.
· Bedrooms: Four in total. Two doubles (one with en-suite bathroom and dressing room area) and two twins, all decorated to a very high standard and in keeping with the style of the house. The two twin bedrooms are open plan to each other making it ideal for those with children. The adjacent twin can be used as a lounge area with sofa, TV and computer if the extra beds are not required. All four bedrooms have views over the surrounding countryside.
· Bathrooms: Three modern stylish bathrooms (one en-suite) all with showers.
· Outside: Private parking, large terrace for outside dining with in-built BBQ.
· Swimming pool: Private fenced swimming pool – ideal for the kids! South facing with the sun all day and plenty of sunbeds!
· Internet: Broadband internet access and computer available. No need to bring your laptop!
· Telephone: There is no landline telephone available at this property, but mobile reception is good.
· Baby facilities: baby cot is available here upon request.
· Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 1500 Euros on arrival (credit card number and sterling accepted). This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
· Bed & bathroom linen: included in the rental cost.
· Gas, electric & water: all included in the rental cost.
· Winter heating: has been priced separately, to give you the option to use it. It is charged at the rate of 25 Euros per week, paid directly to the owner. There is also air cooling in the bedrooms and living room, and this is included in the price of a summer rental
· End-of-stay cleaning: included in the rental cost. Swimming pool will be cleaned once a week during your stay.
· Change over day: normally a Saturday however the owners may be flexible upon request. Stays of 2 week duration are preferred, but not essential, during July & August.
· Long weekend stays: Possible here - please ask for details.
· Pets: permitted here upon request - please ask for details.
· Smoking: Permitted inside this property
· Supplementary services: the owner is able to arrange the following services for you, at a supplement: Babysitter, Masseur, Chauffeur, Daily cleaner, Chef.
How To Get There
· By Air – Ibiza airport is only a 20 minute drive away. There are daily flights from the UK and worldwide - please see the timetables here www.aena.es. There are regular bus services from the airport every fifteen minutes. Taxis are also available at the airport and cost approximately 35 euros.
