The Local Area

·         Beaches: Situated on the South West coast of Ibiza, Cana Estrella has easy access to some of the best beaches on the island. Highly recommended are the beaches of Cala D´Hort, Cala Vadella, Cala Tarida and Cala Bassa –  amazing Mediterranean sunsets, white sand and shallow crystal clear waters .  Ideal for water sports, perfect for the kids and simply enjoying the sun on some of the most unspoilt beaches in the Balearics.  All of these coves have at least two or three locally run restaurants offering the best in traditional ibicenco and international cuisine.  Not to be missed!

·         San José:  The local village of San Jose sits half way up the island´s tallest mountain, Sa Talaia, (475 metres high) from the top of which you can see all the way to Mallorca and the Spanish mainland.  And what is more, you can drive all the way to the top! The village itself retains its country charm with locally run bars and restaurants plus all the shops, banks, pharmacies etc, necessary for modern day living.  It is dominated by its fortress church dating back to the 15^th century and being only a 7 minute drive from Cana Estrella is well worth a visit.

·         Sightseeing:  The old town of Ibiza, known locally as “Dalt Villa” is only a twenty minute drive away.  So well preserved is its´ medieval castle, that it has been named a World Heritage sight.  Every May a medieval fair is held in its streets, perfectly capturing the atmosphere of Ibiza in centuries past.

·         Shops:  Local shops close in San José mean that whatever you need is on hand and with San Antonio and Ibiza town close by, whether you are looking for a local ceramics, a present to take home, or the latest designer fashion, it is all within easy reach.

·         Getting around: Local buses are plentiful and run practically around the clock to the main towns and villages, but order to make the most of the surrounding area, a car is recommended.

·         Nightlife:  Ibiza is world famous for its´ nightlife and for those who couldn´t go home without having experienced it, Cana Estrella is only a 10 minute drive away from San Antonio and the mega clubs Privilege and Amnesia.

Facilities

·         Living room:  One of the most beautiful features of the living area is that it opens out on to a large covered terrace with comfortable sofas, wood beamed ceiling, fruit trees and views over the surrounding countryside and private swimming pool.

·         Dining room: combined within the living room and has large table and chairs for 6 people.

·         Kitchen: modern and well-equipped for cooking and dining. It has an electric oven & gas hob, fridge, freezer, toaster, coffee machine and washing machine. Iron and ironing board available.  Second kitchen in the casita is also fully equipped with oven, fridge and microwave.

·         Bedrooms:  Four in total.  Two double bedrooms, one with en suite shower room and one twin bedroom are to be found in the main house.  One further double bedroom in the “casita”.  All bedrooms are decorated to a very high standard and have amazing views!

·         Bathrooms: Two modern stylish bathrooms in the main house.  One en-suite and the other a family bathroom.  Third bathroom in the casita with shower designed as a wet room.

·         Outside:  Private parking, large terrace for outside dining next to the swimming pool and covered porch with seating area for relaxing.  Beautifully tended garden with fruit trees and wonderful bougainvillea.  Panoramic views over the whole countryside and to the see.  Not a neighbour in sight!

·         Swimming pool: Private 8 x 4 metre swimming pool with roman steps at one end.  South facing with the sun all day and plenty of sunbeds. Large terrace all around, barbecue and shaded dining area at one end. 

·         Internet:  not available here - sorry.

·         Telephone:  There is no landline telephone available at this property, but mobile reception is good.

·         Baby facilities: baby cot is available here upon request.

·         Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 1200 Euros on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

·         Bed & bathroom linen: included in the rental cost.

·         Gas, electric & water: all included in the rental cost.

·         Winter heating: has been priced separately, to give you the option to use it. It is charged at the rate of 25 Euros per week, paid directly to the owner. There is also air cooling in the bedrooms and living room, and this is included in the price of a summer rental

·         End-of-stay cleaning: included in the rental cost.

·         Change over day: normally a Saturday however the owners may be flexible upon request. Stays of 2 week duration are preferred, but not essential, during July & August.

·         Long weekend stays:  Possible here - please ask for details.

·         Pets:  permitted here upon request - please ask for details.

·         Smoking: Permitted inside this property

·         Supplementary services: the owner is able to arrange the following services for you, at a supplement: Babysitter, Masseur, Chauffeur, Daily cleaner, Chef.

How To Get There

·         By Air – Ibiza airport is only a 20- 25 minute drive away.  There are daily flights from the UK and worldwide - please see the timetables here www.aena.es.  There are regular bus services from the airport every fifteen minutes.  Taxis are also available at the airport and cost approximately 35 euros.
