General Description

·         This property is a superb farm, built from traditional Provencal stone, and renovated to a fantastic standard throughout.

·         The key attributes of this beautiful property are the fantastic setting and views, absolute peace and tranquillity, in the heart of a natural setting and with a lovely large swimming pool.

·         Despite this it’s only 1km to the nearest village, Cereste (see the details of the village below).

·         The quality of furnishing and décor is exceptional here – there is a great kitchen (click on the Photo Gallery above to view it) and fantastic living space which is ideal for families or a large group of friends.

·         There are six double bedrooms so it easily sleeps twelve but can accommodate up to 14 people.

·         Read on below for further details but just to mention a couple of luxury extras at this property; It has a sauna that you can use as well as shopping, cooking, ironing and cleaning services all available for additional fees - just ask if you are interested.

The Local Area

  • The farm is situated in the countryside near to Cereste, a village on the northern edge of the Luberon forest and inside the Parc Naturel du Luberon.

  • The scenery around this part of the Luberon is stunning.  There are views in all directions and the property is ideally placed for some marvelous countryside walks.

  • Its only a 1km walk to the village, a traditional, historical and fortified settlement which dates from medieval times – so plenty of history to be found here!

  • The village is large enough to have many shops and cafés, and there is even a small museum with a good selection of regional fossils.    

  • This is also prime lavender growing country and during the summer months the air is filled with the fragrance of the blossoms, especially during harvesting time from July to Sept.

  • The larger town of Apt is about 15 minutes away where you can find pretty much everything you will need.

  • There are many Regional summer festivities: Theater in Avignon, Opera in Aix and Orange, Jazz festival in La Roque d’Antheron and many antique fairs and flea markets.

  • There is Tennis available in the villages nearby, horseback riding in Apt and mountain bikes for rent in Bonnieux. 

  • If you like the idea of a visit to the coast, in one day you can easily go to the coast, take a swim in the warm waters of the Mediterranean and return in the early evening.  

Facilities

·         Living room: The living/dining area is situated on the second floor.  With an area of 100m2, there’s ample space for your family.  Furnished in a modern style, there are dining facilities for all 14 people, as well as comfortable sofas, a TV and DVD player.

·         Kitchen: The fully fitted kitchen is located adjacent to the living/dining area on the first floor

·         Bedrooms: This property has a fantastic six bedrooms.  There are three rooms with double beds, two rooms with two single beds in each that can be pushed together to form one large double and one large room with a double bed and two singles.  (One of the double rooms is in its own apartment, with kitchenette, shower room, and independent entrance.)

·         Bathrooms: This property boasts three bathrooms, and a further four walk-in Italian showers.  There is a shower on every level, and a WC on the upper two levels, as well as the shower room and WC in the separate apartment.

·         Outside:  The estate is set over 13Ha of oak woodland and meadow, providing a great sense of space.  Within the grounds, facilities for boules, table tennis and badminton can be found, as well as a child’s swing.  There is also a shaded terrace, a gas BBQ and secure parking.

·         Swimming pool: The large swimming pool measures 15m x 5m.  It is not a chlorinated pool and for a supplement of 200 Euros per week, heating for the pool is available. Please let us know if you would like this service in advance. 

·         Internet: WiFi access is available and is included in the rental cost

·         Telephone: Unfortunately, this is not included in the rental cost

·         Baby facilities: Most baby facilities are available on request – jut let us know what you’ll need when you book!

·         Winter heating: This is available - please see below

·         Gas, electric, & water: Between October & April there is an additional 150 euro fee per week to cover the oil and electric supply.  The price for the heating may change according to the price of the fuel and electricity at the time of your booking so please enquire upon making a booking for the exact price for the heating.

·         End-of-stay cleaning: Is included in the rental cost.

·         Bed & bathroom linen: Linen is included in the rental cost, including towels for the swimming pool.

·         Laundry Facilities:  There is also a washing machine and tumble drier available for guests use

·         Taxe de Sejour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.

·         Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit on arrival, although this is payable by credit card, and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

·         Change over day: Saturday, although flexibility is possible during the low season.     

·         Long weekend stays: Not possible during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.         

·         Pets: Are not permitted at this villa - sorry.

·         Smoking: Is not permitted inside this villa – sorry.

·         Also included in the cost: Included in the cost is 7 hours of weekly cleaning, and use of the sauna, so you’ll have plenty of time to just sit back and relax!

How To Get There

·         By Car - The village of Cereste lies sits on the N100, 50 minutes east of Avignon, near to Apt and Aix en Provence

  • By Air - Marseille and Nimes Airports are the nearest - approximately 45 minutes drive away

  • By Train - The high speed TGV service runs directly from London or Paris to Avignon, approximately 30 minutes away
