General Description

  • Apartment St Matthias is a beautiful 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment set in the heart of the popular village of Bonnieux

  • A newly-built property, the attention to detail really shows, with the interior being decorated in a gorgeous modern style, providing a light relaxing space when you’re not outside enjoying the Provencal sunshine

  • Close to the medieval ramparts of the historic village of Bonnieux, this property is ideally situated for access to village’s amenities, yet just minutes from the serene beauty and plethora of activities provided by the Luberon countryside

  • With a southwest-facing terrace, the apartment is perfect for a bit of quiet relaxation during the warm Provencal summers
  • Please note that there are in fact several properties in this building and the photographs in our gallery are a selection of the different apartments rather than one individual property.

The Local Area

  • The village of Bonnieux has a rich and varied history and is considered to be one of the most beautiful in the Luberon.
  • In summer the village is really popular and therefore has some great restaurants and cafés. Although not very big, it has some useful and interesting shops, including bakers, butchers, grocery, pharmacy, post office and tourist information centre. There's also a local market on a Friday.
  • The winding roads of the Luberon, with spectacular views, are great to explore and you'll find loads of picturesque villages (Gordes, Menerbes, Maubec) on the doorstep and no doubt you'll want to stop and take some refreshments!
  • Just a short drive away there's a great Sunday morning market at Coustellet and the larger town of Apt is only 15 minutes away.
  • There's loads to do and see in the area; St Remy-de-Provence, famous for its Roman architecture, Les Baux with its ruined castle and unique rock formations, L'Isle sur la Sorgue, famous as an antique centre and market. Also within easy reach are Pont du Gard, Avignon with the Palace of the Popes, Marseille with its famous waterfront, the Amphitheatre at Nimes and the cultured avenues of Aix-en-Provence
  • If activity is your thing, this area is perfect for climbing, cycling, mountain biking, trekking, golf, tennis and swimming.

Facilities

  • Living room: Furnished to a very high standard, the living area, overlooked by a mezzanine level, has a light and spacious feel. The modern decor provides a soothing environment, with a nice balance of chocolate, anthracite and teak colours.  There is a TV (with French channels only I'm afraid) and also an ADSL internet connection.
  • Kitchen: The open-plan kitchen continues the tasteful decor, and is superbly equipped for a self-catering holiday, (that’s if you don’t wish to visit the many excellent restaurants in the area!).
  • Bedrooms: There are three bedrooms in the property, each one providing comfortable accommodation in a soothing environment. 2 have queen size beds and are on the same level as the living room/kitchen and the third, which has 2 singles, is on an upper level and accessed from a flight of wrought-iron stairs.
  • Bathrooms: The property has two bathrooms; one shared by 2 of the bedrooms and the other (a shower room) en-suite to the third bedroom. There are 2 toilets, one within the bathroom and the other independent.
  • Outside: The property can be reached using a lift, rather than climbing stairs.  The property has two southwest-facing terraces, providing plenty of space to lounge about enjoying that Provencal sunshine in privacy! There's also a parking space reserved for the apartment, and keycode entry, for that peace of mind.
  • Swimming pool: The shared swimming pool (measuring 8m x 5m) is perfect for a refreshing dip during the summer, and has an inclined entrance, making it ideal for those that don’t want to take a sudden plunge!  It is open from May to September and heated at the beginning and end of the season.
  • Baby facilities: Baby facilities are available on request at this property
  • Winter heating: Winter heating is included in the rental cost
  • Gas, electric, & water: These are all included in the rental cost.
  • End-of-stay cleaning: The owner arranges end-of-stay cleaning, and this is included in the rental cost.
  • Bed & bathroom linen: This is included in the rental cost.
  • Internet:  There is ADSL access at the apartment, plus wifi access at several cafes in the village.
  • Taxe de Sejour: In France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of 400 Euros on arrival and this will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
  • Change over day: The change over day is Saturday during the high season, although during the low season flexibility is possible
  • Long weekend stays: These are not usually permitted during the high season, although flexibility is possible during the low season.
  • Pets: We’re sorry, pets are not permitted at this property.
