General Description

 

  • This great 2-bedroom apartment occupies a whole top floor, in a very central location in Cannes and has an enormous triple aspect terrace! Offering stunning views over the whole of Cannes and to the sea, it makes an ideal place from which to base your self for the many Festivals of Cannes.

  • The apartment is on the 7th floor (with lift, then one flight of stairs) and comprises of a bright living room, an independent kitchen, two twin bedrooms, one bathroom, an independent WC and a huge wraparound terrace.

  • It’s in a very central location with many shops, restaurants and cafes on your doorstep and just 15 minutes walk from the famous ‘Croisette’ and its beaches.

  • It has a maximum occupancy of 6 people and would be ideal for a small group of friends or business people needing to be close to the ‘Palais des Festivals’.

The Local Area

 

  • Local shops, restaurants, boulangeries and a supermarket can be found right outside on the very same street - you can shop here daily for all your favourites. There is also a wide range of bars and pavement cafes to choose from and ‘people watching’ is just great here in Cannes!

  • Local markets are held every day in the town’s very colourful, covered market and here you can buy fresh fish, fruit, vegetables & olives.

  • Sporting activities in the area are abundant– there is golf, tennis, fishing, water sports, sailing, windsurfing, the beach, scuba diving and swimming. You are also in very close proximity to the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes region here, which makes walking and cycling very popular.

  • Beaches can be found very close by on ‘La Croisette’ just a 15 minute walk away.

  • The ski stations of Greoliere, Valberg, Isola and Auron are between 1-2 hour’s drive away if you fancy a couple of day’s winter sports!

  • Getting around is easy from here; you have the whole bus network, taxis and the train station of Cannes very nearby. A car is really not necessary.

  • Sightseeing is endless; places of interest are the town of Cannes and its festivals (the Film Festival being the most famous), the “Croisette” and its designer shops, the old town of Cannes and its port, Theoule-sur-Mer and the Esterel Mountains, the town and port of Antibes & the City of Nice. Further inland you can get away from all the hustle and bustle and visit the picturesque old villages of Mougins, Biot and Valbonne.

  • Other entertainment includes shopping, the casinos & nightlife of Cannes, boat trips to the nearby Isles de Lerins, cinema, wine tasting, thalassatherapy and helicopter rides!

Facilities

 

  • Living room: is accessed via the entrance from the terrace and has easterly-facing views over the hills of ‘Super Cannes’. It’s furnished with a stylish leather & suede sofa (which converts into a bed for two people) an armchair, pieces of antique and Chinese style furniture, a dining table and four chairs, a TV (French) and small Hi-Fi/CD player.

  • Kitchen: is independent and adjacent to the living room. It has a door out onto the westerly-facing side of the terrace, with views over the centre of Cannes and the Esterel Mountains. Newly fitted in 2007, it is well-equipped for cooking and dining and has a combined oven/microwave, a two burner gas hob, a small dishwasher, a large fridge with freezer compartment and coffee machine. There is a small table and chairs for two people.

  • Bedrooms: two in total. The master bedroom is a good size and has two single beds (90x200), some lovely pieces of antique furniture and a window overlooking the westerly terrace. The other bedroom also has two single beds, an en-suite WC & washbasin and views over the southerly terrace. This bedroom is independent from the main apartment and is accessed via the outside terrace – ideal for those wanting separate sleeping quarters or more privacy. In the living room there is additional sleeping for a further two people.

  • Bathrooms: there is a small, independent bathroom, recently been refurbished (2008) with beautifully tiled walls, a ‘mini-bath’, shower above, washbasin set in marble and WC. There is also a small washing machine in the bathroom. The second bedroom has the WC.

  • Other rooms: there is a hallway between the master bedroom and the bathroom which has fitted cupboards for clothes hanging and iron & ironing board.

  • Outside: the apartment has a superb wraparound terrace, giving you 180 degree views over the whole of Cannes and sunshine at any time of the day! There is a table and four chairs and the areas outside the living room and kitchen both have electric sun canopies. (Please note: the terrace is predominantly bordered by chain link fence (see photos) so you may wish to consider its suitability for young children). For car parking, there is ‘pay & display’ on the street or in a nearby car park. Alternatively a private parking space may be made available upon request.

  • Swimming pool: there is no pool but then you do have the sea very close by.

  • Internet: connection is available here for your laptop.

  • Telephone: landline is not available here - sorry.

  • Baby facilities: a baby cot and high chair are available upon request.

  • Damage deposit: The owner requests a damage deposit of £100 (approx 130 Euros) on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.

  • Bed & bathroom linen: is included in the rental cost.

  • Gas, electric & water: are all included in the rental cost.

  • Winter heating: via central heating radiators and under floor heating is included in the rental cost.

  • End-of-stay cleaning: is included in the rental cost.

  • Taxe de Séjour: for this property the owner has included it in the rental cost.

  • Change over day: is normally a Saturday however the owner may be flexible upon request.

  • Long weekend stays: are possible here - please ask for details.

  • Pets: are permitted upon request - please ask for details.

  • Supplementary services: we are able to arrange the following services for you, as a supplement: Babysitter, Chauffeur.

How To Get There

 

  • By Car – The roads and autoroutes in France are a pleasure, so driving can sometimes make a good alternative to flying – at least you’ll already have your car with you! From the UK you have the choice of using the ferries or the Eurotunnel for your crossing. Once in the South of France, this property can be easily accessed via the A8 autoroute.
  • By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport – approximately 35 kilometres away. There are daily flights from the UK and worldwide - please see the timetables here www.nice.aeroport.fr. There are regular bus and train services from the airport to Cannes town centre. 
  • By Train – Eurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice. The nearest train station to this property is Cannes, approximately 500 metres away.
