General Description

  • This spacious, recently renovated two bedroom apartment is set in a beautiful, historic 17th century chateau in Nice. It has been stylishly furnished and is located in a quiet spot; just 5 minutes walk from the beach & close to all the town centre amenities.

  • The apartment is located on a ground floor split level and is approximately 180 sq metres in size. It comprises of a very spacious living/dining room, a stylish open-plan kitchen, a cloakroom, two bedrooms, two bath or shower rooms, a utility room, beautifully landscaped communal gardens and parking for two cars. From the front aspect it is southerly facing and has a small sea view.

  • The historical building in which it is situated is extremely fascinating. Accessed by ‘castle style’ entrance gates, you are then met by 2 imposing statues of lions, before entering further into the grounds, which feature all types of Mediterranean trees & flora. The apartment was entirely renovated in 2005 and the new finish now brings together original features like exposed stone walls, vaulted brick ceilings and large shuttered windows, with modern day features like a contemporary kitchen & bathrooms, stylish furnishings and elegant lighting.

  • The chateau is located in a very peaceful neighbourhood just to the west of Nice town centre. It’s just 500 metres back from the famous seafront ‘The Promenade des Anglais’, making it very easy to walk to the beach.

  • The apartment has a maximum occupancy of 9 people (plus babies) but would ideally be suited to 6 adults, or 4 adults plus 4 children.

The Local Area

  • Local shops, restaurants and boulangeries can be found within easy walking distance just 200 metres away! There is also a supermarket just 500 metres away. A further wide range of shops and restaurants can be found in nearby Nice town centre and the historical Old Town.

  • Local markets are held all over Nice, but the most famous is in the “Cours Saleya” between the seafront and the Old Town of Nice. Here you can choose from a huge selection of fish, fruit, vegetables and flower stalls and on a Monday there is an interesting ‘brocante’ (bric-a-brac) market.

  • Sporting activities in the surrounding area are abundant – there is golf, tennis, fishing, horse riding, water sports & the beach and roller blading. You are also in very close proximity to the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes region here, which makes walking and cycling very popular.

  • Beaches can be found just 500 metres from the apartment, and they run the whole length of ‘The Promenade des Anglais’, from the airport to the Old Town. These pebbly beaches give the sea its beautiful azure blue colour and are great for swimming, sunbathing and all sorts of water sports. The Promenade is also a great place for walks, jogging, rollerblading and just general people watching!

  • The ski stations of Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are just over one hour’s drive away if you fancy a couple of day’s winter sports!

  • Getting around is very easy from here – you can walk to lots of places, but you also have a local bus network to explore the coast & surrounding towns and villages. There are also train and coaches from Nice, which take you to lots of surrounding destinations, and the airport. A car is not essential here.

  • Sightseeing is endless; you have the Old Town of Nice, The Port of Nice, The Promenade des Anglais, the towns of Villefranche-sur-Mer and Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Cap Ferrat and its zoo, the perched village of Eze, the principality of Monaco and the Italian border town of Menton. It is also possible to cross over the border to experience a flavour of Italy! In the other direction you can also discover the coastal towns of Antibes & Cannes or head inland to see St Paul-de-Vence and Mougins.

  • Other entertainment includes shopping, casinos & nightlife, theatre, cinema, helicopter rides, boat trips, Aquasplash and Marineland near Antibes or just a good old day relaxing on the beach!
