General Description

 

  • This tastefully furnished, 3-bedroom apartment on the ground floor of a Provencal villa, has magnificent views over the plain of Grasse, down to the sea. The owner welcomes you to stay for Bed & Breakfast (please ask for nightly prices) or you can rent the whole apartment!
  • The apartment is approximately 100 square metres and comprises of a living room, a well-equipped dining kitchen, 3 double bedrooms, 3 en-suite bath/shower rooms, a terrace and landscaped gardens.
  • It’s in a quiet location close to the hillside village of Magagnosc, in the hills above the famous perfumery town of Grasse.
  • It has a maximum occupancy of 6 (plus babies) and would be perfect for a group of friends or a family.

 

The Local Area

 

  • Local shops, restaurants, a boulangerie and a supermarket can be found just 1 km away in the village of Magagnosc.
  • Local markets are also held nearby in the town of Grasse (5km) and the hillside villages of Chateauneuf (1km) and Valbonne (10km).
  • Sporting activities in the area are abundant– there is golf, tennis, horse riding, karting and paragliding. You are also within the mountains and hills of the Alpes Maritimes region here, which make walking and cycling very popular.
  • Beaches can be found in Cannes (20km).
  • The ski stations of Valberg, Isola 2000 and Auron are approximately 1 hour’s drive away if you fancy a couple of days winter sports!
  • Getting around is easier if you have a car, however there are train and bus stations approximately 5km away in Grasse.
  • Sightseeing is abundant here; you are ideally placed to tour the mountains of the Alpes Maritime region. The nearest places of interest are the town of Grasse and its perfumeries, the perched medieval village of Gourdon (the views down to the sea are quite breathtaking from here!), the cafes in the square at Valbonne, the town of Cannes and its “Croisette”, the old hilltop village of Mougins, and the artist towns of Vence and St Paul de Vence.
  • Other entertainment includes the cafes and restaurants in Grasse, the casinos & nightlife of Cannes, the aquariums at Marineland, and the peaceful relaxation of the countryside.

 

Facilities

 

  • Living room: is compact and has a sofa, a coffee table, a television (International), a DVD player and a small library of books & local guides.
  • Dining room: is within the kitchen, and has a table with benches either side for 6 people.
  • Kitchen:  is well equipped for cooking & dining and has a microwave, hob, fridge, freezer, coffee machine and toaster. There is also an iron and ironing board.
  • Bedrooms: there are 3 comfortable, double bedrooms (two with beds 140x200cm and one with 160x200cm), all with their own en-suite shower or bathrooms. Two of them have French doors out onto the terrace and all of them are all beautifully interior designed.
  • Bathrooms: two of the bedrooms have good-sized en-suite shower rooms, and the largest bedroom has a grand en-suite bathroom with a corner bath. Each has its own WC.
  • Outside: there are well-tendered gardens all around the house, with a terrace, a small lawn area with sun loungers, and a barbeque. If you are staying here for Bed & Breakfast, this is served on the terrace upstairs, and from here you get even better views over the surrounding countryside. There is parking outside the property, on the road.
  • Internet: connection is available here for your laptop.
  • Telephone: is not available here -sorry.
  • Baby facilities: a baby cot can be made available upon request.
  • Winter heating: is included in the rental cost.
  • Electric & water: are included in the rental cost.
  • End-of-stay cleaning: there is a charge of 50 Euros payable directly to the owners.
  • Bed & bathroom linen: bed linen is included in the rental cost and towels can be provided for 8 euros per bedroom, if you do not wish to take your own.
  • Taxe de Séjour: in France, it is necessary to pay a “Taxe de Séjour” at the end of your stay. It has been included here in the rental cost.
  • Damage deposit: If you are renting the whole apartment the owner requests a damage deposit of 800 Euros on arrival. This will be refunded to you at the end of your stay, less the replacement cost of any breakages.
  • Change over day: is normally a Saturday, but the owners may be flexible upon request.
  • Long weekend stays and short breaks: are possible at this property – please ask for details.
  • Pets: are not permitted at this property - sorry.
  • Smoking: is not permitted inside this property – sorry.

 

How To Get There

 

  • By Car – The roads and autoroutes in France are a pleasure, so driving can sometimes make a good alternative to flying – at least you’ll already have your car with you! From the UK you have the choice of using the ferries or the Eurotunnel for your crossing. Once in the South of France, this property can be easily accessed via the A8 autoroute and the D2085.
  • By Air – Nice-Cote d’Azur is the nearest international airport – approximately 30 kilometres away. There are daily flights from the UK with British Airways, British Midland, Easyjet and Jet2.
  • By Train – Eurostar runs from London to Paris city centres and then the high speed TGV service runs from Paris to Nice.
